Alright, listen up, y’all. We gonna talk about this Texas Tech baseball thing, the transfer portal they got goin’ on in 2024. I ain’t no fancy expert or nothin’, but I can tell ya what I see, plain and simple.
Texas Tech Baseball and That Transfer Thing
So, they got this “transfer portal,” right? Sounds all highfalutin, but it’s just a way for these college boys to switch teams. Like, if they ain’t happy where they at, they can just up and leave, go play somewhere else. More than 2,100 of ’em all over the country are doin’ it this year. That’s a whole heap of young’uns movin’ around, ain’t it?
Now, Texas Tech, they lost some boys and got some new ones. I hear they lost about 10 fellas to this portal thing. Some graduated, moved on, and some just wanted a change of scenery, I reckon. And that’s okay, things change, people move on, just like in life, ain’t it?
But they ain’t just sittin’ around cryin’ about it. Nope, they went out and got themselves some new players. I heard tell they got somethin’ like 17 new pitchers for next year, and 12 of ’em came through this here transfer portal. That’s a lot of new arms, gotta say. Guess they needed ’em after losin’ so many. They say they lost 14 pitchers because they graduated or went to the portal. So, it’s like a swap, you lose some, you gain some.
- Lost some players to graduation and transfer
- Gained a bunch of new pitchers through the portal
- Still lookin’ for more, maybe?
What’s This NIL All About?
Now, there’s this other thing called “NIL.” I ain’t quite sure what it all means, but it’s got somethin’ to do with these boys gettin’ paid. Seems like they can make money off their names and faces now. Good for them, I say. Work hard, play hard, get paid. That’s how it should be, right? It probably has something to do with why these boys move around so much now, more money to be had somewhere else you know.
Who’s Comin’ and Goin’?
I heard about this boy, Travis Sanders. He’s a young fella, didn’t play much last year, and now he’s in the portal lookin’ for a new team. Happens all the time, not everyone can be a star. Then there’s Kash, this boy hit a whole bunch of doubles for Texas Tech, but he’s movin’ on too. He done been in the portal before, so he knows the ropes, I guess. Maybe he’s lookin for more playing time, or maybe more of that NIL money, who knows?
What’s Gonna Happen Next?
Well, nobody knows for sure. The portal just opened up in June, so there’s gonna be a whole lot more movin’ and shakin’ before it’s all said and done. Texas Tech might lose some more boys, they might get some more. It’s like a big ol’ game of musical chairs, and you don’t know who’s gonna be sittin’ down when the music stops. But that’s baseball, ain’t it? Always somethin’ new happenin’, always keepin’ you on your toes.
My Two Cents
I ain’t no expert on college baseball or these fancy rules they got, but I do know a thing or two about life. And life’s about change. Sometimes you gotta move on to find somethin’ better, sometimes you gotta stick it out and fight for what you want. These boys, they gotta figure out what’s best for them, and I wish ’em all the luck in the world. And as for Texas Tech, well, they just gotta keep on keepin’ on, findin’ good players, and playin’ good ball. That’s all there is to it.
So, to sum it all up: Texas Tech baseball is in the middle of this transfer portal thing. They lost some players, gained some players, and who knows what’ll happen next. But one thing’s for sure, they gonna keep playin’ ball, and I’ll be watchin’.
It’s all part of the game, and just like any game, it changes day by day. We just gotta see how it all plays out.
