Says he’s got an arm like a cannon, throws them fireballs all over the field. Some folks reckon he might even be the number one pick, goin’ to the Raiders. That’s a big deal, y’all, bein’ number one. Means you gotta be somethin’ special.
They got all these fancy rankings too. Just the other day, them On3 fellas put out their list for the 2027 boys. Sophomores, they are. Just babies, really, but they already got folks lookin’ at ’em, seein’ if they got what it takes to play in the big leagues. It’s a lot of pressure for young’uns, if you ask me.
And wouldn’t you know it, they already talkin’ ’bout a mock draft. Seven rounds, they say. Seven rounds of pickin’ and choosin’, tryin’ to find the next Tom Brady or whoever them young folks like these days. Me, I remember when Bart Starr was the man. Now, that was a quarterback, tough as nails.
These scouts, they look at all sorts of things. They got fellas called IDPs, I guess that means somethin’ on defense. And they talk about strategy, like it’s some kind of war game. They watch films, I reckon that’s like watchin’ movies of the games, lookin’ at how these boys move and throw. They even got somethin’ called a “Rookie Nerd Score.” Now, I ain’t sure what that means, but it sounds like them computer fellas are gettin’ involved. Too much thinkin’, if you ask me. Just watch the boy play, that’s how you know if he’s good.
- Quarterbacks: Gotta have a strong arm, gotta be smart, gotta be able to lead the team. That Cam Ward fella sounds like he might be the real deal.
- Running Backs: Gotta be fast, gotta be strong, gotta be able to dodge them big ol’ tacklers. Them boys take a beatin’, I tell ya.
- Receivers: Gotta have good hands, gotta be quick, gotta be able to catch that ball no matter what. And they gotta be tough, too. Lots of bumpin’ and shovin’ going on out there.
- Defense: Well, they just gotta be mean. Gotta stop them other fellas from scorin’. Big fellas up front, fast fellas in the back. That’s what you need.
Heard tell them quarterback prospects out west ain’t been so good lately. Don’t know why that is. Maybe they ain’t eatin’ enough grits or somethin’. But I reckon there’s good players everywhere, you just gotta find ’em. And these scouts, they spendin’ all their time lookin’, tryin’ to find that next superstar.
It’s a whole lot to keep up with, all these names and numbers and rankings. But it’s excitin’, too. Seein’ these young fellas, workin’ hard, tryin’ to make their dreams come true. Reminds me of my own young’uns, workin’ on the farm, tryin’ to make a livin’. Same kinda spirit, I reckon, just a different kinda field.
So, there you have it. My two cents on them 2027 NFL draft prospects. Ain’t no fancy analysis, just plain talk. But mark my words, some of these boys are gonna be big stars one day. You just wait and see.
