Alright, so today’s little adventure was all about figuring out this “longtime LA sports venue” thing. It popped up as a clue in the New York Times crossword, which I’ve gotten hooked on recently. It’s a fun way to kill some time and maybe learn a thing or two, you know?
So, I saw this clue, “Longtime Los Angeles sports venue,” and my mind started racing. At first, I thought about it, I was like, wait a minute, I have heard of that. I recalled some NBA games held there and some big events. I should know this one!
But my brain was a bit slow today. I stared at the clue for a while, and nothing came to mind. So I grabbed my phone and started searching on google. I typed in “longtime LA sports venue NYT crossword clue” hoping to find some hints.
- First thing that popped up was a bunch of these crossword solver sites. They basically just give you the answer right away.
- I scrolled through a few of them, and they all said the same thing. The answer was “STAPLESCENTER”.
- I was like, “STAPLESCENTER”! Of course! How could I forget the place where the Lakers and Clippers play.
- Then I tried to find when this clue was first seen. I found it was March 21, 2024. That’s interesting. I can also see some tags like “Los Angeles” and “Clue”. That makes sense.
Anyway, I plugged “STAPLESCENTER” into the crossword, and it fit perfectly. 13 letters, just what was needed. Felt pretty good to crack that one, even if I did need a little help from the internet. It’s funny how these things can be right on the tip of your tongue, but you just can’t quite get there without a little nudge. It was a good time. It made me remember those days I went to watch games there. But now, it seems like the name has changed.

- Secondly, these crossword clues sometimes give you some updated information. For example, I just knew that the clue was first seen in March this year.
- Lastly, I think I need to brush up on my sports knowledge a bit more!
