Today, I tried out Baptiste and Day’s stuff in the game. First off, I picked Baptiste ’cause a buddy told me he’s got some neat tricks up his sleeve. I jumped into a few rounds, and man, it was a bit of a learning curve. This guy’s got a lot going on!
His healing grenades are pretty cool. I was able to keep my teammates topped off, but aiming them took some getting used to. Sometimes I’d overshoot and waste a bunch of heals. Gotta work on that. And his primary fire? It’s a three-round burst thing. Not bad for chipping away at enemies, but I definitely wasn’t melting anyone.
Immortality Field
Then there’s this Immortality Field thing. It’s like a little gadget he throws down that stops your team from dying. Sounds awesome, right? It is, but it’s tricky. I kept throwing it down at the wrong times. Either too early and it would get destroyed before it did anything, or too late and my team would already be wiped out. I have to say, timing is the most difficult. But I think the more time I spent, the better I did.
- You gotta use it when your team is really about to get hammered.
- Don’t just toss it out all willy-nilly, you gotta make it count.
- Use it for the timing that your teammates almost die.
Facing Day’s Heroes
After messing around with Baptiste, I figured I’d see how he stacked up against some of Day’s favorite heroes. I went up against a Pharah, as that’s what I saw mentioned online somewhere. Let me tell you, it wasn’t easy.
Pharah was just raining rockets down on us. Trying to hit her with Baptiste’s gun was a pain. I did manage to toss an Immortality Field down to save a teammate from a rocket barrage once. Felt pretty good about that, even if I did get blasted right after.
So, Baptiste vs. Pharah? Tough matchup for sure. I think I need more practice with Baptiste before I can really hold my own against her. But hey, that’s what practice is for, right? Overall, I think Baptiste has potential, you just gotta put in the time to figure him out. I also have some good feelings about his skills and his Immortality Field. But the most important is timing.
