So, I really wanted to watch this tennis match, Kotov versus Rinderknech, yesterday. It’s a part of the Australian Open 2024.
First thing I did was check when it was happening. Turns out, it was scheduled for January 14th. I found a few websites talking about it, saying it would start around 12:00 AM.
I got myself ready, made some coffee, and sat down in front of my computer. I tried to find a live stream online but didn’t have much luck with free options. And then I went to check some sport webs, trying to find the real-time score update.
Anyway, I did find some updates, like the live score and some stats. It was cool to see the progress, even though I couldn’t watch the actual game.
From what I gathered, it was the first time these two players, Pavel Kotov and Arthur Rinderknech, were playing against each other in this tournament. And this match was just the first round. I also read something about the Australian Open being held on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country, which was a nice acknowledgment.
Here’s what I managed to jot down during the match:
- Match start time: 12:00 AM, January 14th, 2024
- Players: Pavel Kotov vs. Arthur Rinderknech
- Location: Court 6, Melbourne, Australia
- Event: Australian Open, First Round
I kept refreshing the page to see the score updates. Honestly, I am not good at tennis or any sports, but I just felt like I should do something fun. But following the score was exciting enough for me.
And, I also found something interesting that I didn’t know. A web mentioned “Tennis Australia acknowledges that the AO is held on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country and we extend our respects to Elders past and present and to all First Nations People.” I felt warm when I read this.
It would be great to catch the full match next time. Maybe I’ll have better luck finding a stream, or maybe I’ll just follow the live updates again. Either way, it was a fun experience. Also, it’s interesting to know the place where the game held has this history.
It was a fun night, trying to follow this tennis match. Even without seeing it live, I felt involved. Maybe next time I’ll have more luck, or maybe I’ll just follow the scores again.
