It’s May, and you know what that means – time to check how much money I made this month! So, I got up this morning, grabbed my coffee, and sat down at my desk to figure it all out.
First, I opened up my trusty spreadsheet where I keep track of all my income. I work a bunch of different gigs, so I have income from my main job, my side hustle, and a few other little things here and there.
Main Job Hustle
- Checked my pay stub online from my main job.
- Noted down the gross pay, taxes taken out, and the net pay that actually landed in my bank account.
Side Gig Grind
- Went through my invoices for my freelance work.
- Added up all the payments I received this month. It’s always a good feeling to see that number!
Other Income Streams
- Looked at my bank statements for any interest earned on my savings.
- Checked if I got any dividends from my investments.
After gathering all those numbers, I plugged everything into my spreadsheet. It automatically calculates my total income for the month. Seeing the final number is always a bit of a thrill. It’s like a little reward for all the hard work I’ve been putting in.
Then, I started thinking about my expenses. Rent, groceries, bills – you know, the usual stuff. I try to keep a close eye on where my money is going each month. So, I opened up my budgeting app and updated it with my spending for May.
Once I had both my income and expenses in one place, I could see how much I actually saved this month. It’s not always as much as I’d like, but every little bit counts. It’s good to have a clear picture of my finances, you know?
So, that’s how I figured out my May salary. It’s not rocket science, just a bit of organization and staying on top of things. Now, time to treat myself to something nice – I think I’ve earned it!
