Today, I wanna talk about something that’s been bugging me in fantasy football – should I pick Jaylen Warren or Bijan Robinson? It’s a tough call, and I’ve been going back and forth on it, so I figured I’d lay out my whole thought process here.
First off, I started by looking at their stats from last season. You know, just getting a feel for how they performed. Bijan was a rookie, and man, he showed some serious flashes of brilliance. He rushed for nearly 1,000 yards and caught a bunch of passes too. Warren, on the other hand, was more of a change-of-pace back, but he still managed to carve out a decent role for himself.
After that, I dove into some articles and expert opinions. Reading what the “pros” have to say is always a good idea, even if you don’t always agree with them. Some folks were really high on Bijan, saying he’s got the potential to be a top-five running back. Others were pumping the brakes a bit, pointing out that the Falcons’ offense isn’t exactly a powerhouse.
With Warren, the conversation was a little different. People were saying that he could see an increased workload this year, especially if Najee Harris gets hurt or doesn’t perform well. He showed that he could handle the workload.
So, I decided to do some digging of my own. I went through game logs, trying to see how each player was used. Was Bijan getting the goal-line carries? Was Warren involved in the passing game? These little details can make a big difference.
Bijan, it seemed, was the clear lead back, but the Falcons didn’t always use him in the most effective way. It was frustrating to watch, honestly. Warren, though, was consistently getting touches, even if they weren’t always high-value ones.
Next, I thought about their team situations. The Falcons drafted a quarterback, which could mean they’ll throw the ball more. That might hurt Bijan’s rushing attempts but could boost his value in PPR leagues. The Steelers, on the other hand, seem committed to running the ball, which bodes well for both Warren and Harris.
Then, I tried to factor in their draft cost. I joined a few mock drafts to see where each player was typically going. Bijan was consistently being drafted in the first couple of rounds, while Warren was going much later. That’s a huge difference. It got me thinking, do I really want to spend such a high pick on Bijan when I could get similar production from Warren much later?
- Bijan Robinson:
- High ceiling, could be a league-winner.
- Expensive draft cost.
- Team situation is a bit uncertain.
- Jaylen Warren:
- Lower ceiling, but still a solid contributor.
- Much cheaper draft cost.
- Clear path to more touches.
Here’s my breakdown:
After all that, I’m still not 100% sure who I’ll pick. It really depends on how the draft unfolds. But, I’m leaning towards Warren, mainly because of the value he represents. I’d rather have a well-rounded team than blow all my draft capital on one player, even if that player is as talented as Bijan.
It was a real headache, but I figured it out. Hope this helps some of you guys out there who are also struggling with this decision! Let me know what you think in the comments!
