Okay, folks, let’s talk about this “tennis ball gender reveal” thing I tried. I saw it on the internet, and it looked kinda cool, so I thought, “Why not?”
First, I got a couple of tennis balls. Just regular ones from the sports store. Nothing fancy.
Getting Started
Then came the messy part. I needed to get the colored powder inside. I carefully cut a small slit in each ball with a knife. It was a little tricky, being careful to not to cut too much. I didn’t want the ball to totally fall apart, just to split when hit.
- Cut a slit into the tennis ball.
- Stuff it with colored powder.
- Seal it up (kinda).
Then I stuffed one with blue powder and the other with pink.I bought the powder online easy peasy. It was pretty cheap, actually. I made sure to pack it in there pretty good, but not so much that it wouldn’t burst open.
The next step was to try to seal up the slit. I used some tape, but honestly, it didn’t work that great. Powder was kinda leaking out a little, but I figured it would be fine. It’s all part of the fun, right?
The Big Moment
So, we gathered everyone outside. We don’t have a tennis court so we did it in our backyard. I gave my brother a tennis racket, And I was the person who throw the ball, since I knew which was which. He was the batter.
He took a mighty swing at the one I knew was the ‘boy’ ball… and BOOM! Blue powder everywhere! It was pretty awesome, I gotta admit. The powder cloud was bigger than I expected, and everyone cheered. It was very fun.
Cleaning up.
The clean-up was a bit of a pain. Powder everywhere. But hey, it was worth it.
All in all, it was a fun, messy, and memorable way to reveal the gender. I think it would work even better with proper sealent for the balls. If you’re looking for something a little different, I’d say give it a try! Just be prepared for a bit of a mess, and have fun with it!
