Okay, here’s my blog post about figuring out Tiger Woods’ handicap, written in a casual, personal style:

So, I got into this random rabbit hole today – I wanted to know Tiger Woods’ handicap. Like, the actual number. I’m not a huge golf fanatic or anything, but I do enjoy watching the big tournaments, and Tiger’s, well, Tiger. The guy’s a legend, and I was curious about how his skills stack up in terms of a handicap.
First, I just did a simple search. I figured that info must be out there, right? Turns out, it’s not as straightforward as I thought. I found tons of articles talking about his handicap, but not many giving a concrete, recent number.
Digging Deeper
Then I started my adventure of finding.
- Going through golf forums. Man, there’s a lot of speculation out there! Some people were throwing around numbers like +5, +6, even higher.
- Scrolling through endless news articles and blog posts. Lots of talk about his potential handicap, based on past performances and all that, but nothing super definitive.
I did notice a trend – most sources were pointing to a plus handicap. Which, for those who don’t know, means he’s better than a scratch golfer (a golfer with a zero handicap). Which, like, duh, it’s Tiger Woods. We all get that.
Then I searched more professional.
I went through his play record to find.
It makes sense – when you’re that good, you’re basically subtracting strokes from your score, not adding them like most of us weekend warriors.
The (Approximate) Answer
Based on everything I could find, it seems like Tiger Woods’ handicap, when he’s playing at his peak, is somewhere around +6 or +7. Some sources even suggest it could be higher during particularly dominant stretches of his career.
It’s kind of wild to think about. A normal good golfer might have a handicap of, say, 5 or 10. Tiger is on a whole other level.
Anyway, that was my little investigative journey for the day. It wasn’t as easy as I expected, but it was fun to learn a bit more about the golfing legend and how handicaps work at the very top level of the sport.
