Okay, so I wanted to mess around with creating that “Sally Brown” look, you know, from the Peanuts comics. It’s a classic, simple style, and I figured it’d be a fun little project to try and replicate.

Getting Started
First, I gathered some reference images. I just googled “Sally Brown Peanuts” and saved a bunch of pictures to my computer. I wanted to get a good sense of her dress, her hair, and her overall vibe.
The Dress
The dress is the key, I think. It’s that simple, A-line shape, usually pink or sometimes light blue. I decided to go with pink. I didn’t have a pattern or anything, so I just winged it.
- I found some pink fabric I had lying around – an old bedsheet, actually.
- I roughly sketched out the shape of the dress, making it wider at the bottom. Super basic.
- I cut out two pieces, one for the front and one for the back, making sure they were the same size.
- Then, I sewed the sides together. It wasn’t perfect, but it looked okay!
- I even added a little white collar, just a simple strip of white fabric sewed around the neckline.
And I used a black marker add her black dress dot.
The Hair
Sally’s hair is pretty straightforward – short and blonde, with a little curl.I also found a short and bolond wig.
And I used a hair curler to curl a little.
The Overall Effect
It wasn’t a perfect replica, of course, but it was close enough! I put my hair in it. Put on the dress. That’s all.
It was a fun, quick project, and it definitely captured the essence of Sally Brown. Plus, it reminded me of how much I love those old Peanuts cartoons.
