Okay, so I saw this thing online about Allen Iverson’s height, and it got me thinking. Everyone always says he’s 6 feet tall, but I’ve always felt like he looked shorter on the court. So, I decided to do my own little investigation, just for fun.
Digging Around for Clues
First, I hit up some basketball forums and fan pages. You know, just casually browsing to see what other people were saying. Some folks were adamant he was a solid 6 feet, others were in the “he’s probably shorter” camp. It was a mixed bag.
Then, I spent some time looking at pictures – tons of them. I tried to find photos of him standing next to other players whose heights we know for sure. It’s tricky, though, because of camera angles and stuff. You can’t always trust photos.
- Compared him to Muggsy Bogues (famously short) – Iverson definitely looked taller, but by how much? Hard to say.
- Checked out some pics next to Shaq (who’s like a giant) – Obviously, a huge difference, but that didn’t help much with the specifics.
- Looked for side-by-sides with players closer to his supposed height, like Chris Paul. This seemed like the best bet.
My “Expert” Analysis (LOL)
After all this intense research (ha!), I’m leaning towards the idea that he’s maybe a bit shorter than a full 6 feet. Maybe 5’10”, 5’11” tops? It’s really hard to be 100% certain, but that’s my gut feeling.
I even tried to stand up straight and measure myself against my doorframe, imagining I was Iverson. Don’t judge, I was bored! It didn’t really prove anything, of course, but it was part of the process.
Honestly, it doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things. Iverson was an incredible player, regardless of whether he was exactly 6 feet or a tiny bit shorter. But it was a fun little rabbit hole to go down for an afternoon!
