Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get a better handle on the women’s UFC weight classes, like, for real this time. I always mix them up, so I figured, why not do a deep dive and actually learn this stuff? It’s more fun when you know what’s going on, right?

So, first, I grabbed my phone and started looking. I just searched for “women’s UFC weight divisions” and, I see a lot of different informathions, so I decided to go straight to the source – the official UFC website. I figured that would be the most accurate, no-nonsense place to get the info.
I found the page, and it’s pretty straightforward. I use my mouse clicking different pages. They clearly listed all the divisions. I started taking notes, jotting them down in my notebook like this:
- Strawweight: 115 lbs
- Flyweight: 125 lbs
- Bantamweight: 135 lbs
- Featherweight: 145 lbs
It’s actually super simple when you see it laid out like that. I don’t know why I always thought it was more complicated.
I always mixed Flyweight and Bantamweight before.
After getting the basic weight limits down, I started digging a little deeper. I wanted to know some of the big names in each division. I spent some time clicking around on fighter profiles, reading their stats, and just generally getting a feel for who’s who in each weight class.
I realized I had seen some of those fights before and it makes a lot more sense now! I finally feel like I have a solid grasp on it. From now on, watching the fights is gonna be way more interesting now that I actually understand the weight divisions and some of the key players. Mission accomplished!
