Okay, so I’ve been trying to get into the Waste Management Open, but it’s tough! I heard about this “Monday Qualifier” thing, so I figured I’d give it a shot. I mean, who wouldn’t want to play in a PGA Tour event, right?

First things first, I registered for the qualifier. It was pretty straightforward, just had to fill out some forms online and pay the entry fee. Nothing too crazy.
Then came the practice rounds. I wanted to get a feel for the course, see where the trouble was, and figure out my game plan. I played a couple of rounds, took notes on each hole, and tried to visualize how I’d play it during the qualifier.
The Day
Man, was I nervous on the day of the qualifier! So many good players, all trying to snag one of those few spots. I started okay, nothing spectacular, just trying to keep it steady.
- First few holes: Pars, pars, pars… Felt good, but needed some birdies.
- Middle of the round: Got a couple of birdies, but also a couple of bogeys. Stressful!
- Ending: Made another par, which felt like.
Finally. I finished my round. Then came the waiting. This was probably the worst part, just sitting there, refreshing the leaderboard, hoping my score was good enough.
It’s a grind, for sure, but hey, it’s all part of the dream, right? Playing with the big boys!
