Okay, so, “ashley flair,” huh? Let me tell you, this wasn’t exactly my usual cup of tea, but hey, gotta experiment, right?

First off, I spent a good chunk of time just trying to figure out what everyone was even talking about. I mean, I knew the name, vaguely, but didn’t really follow the whole wrestling scene. So, yeah, Google became my best friend for a while. I dug deep, watched some matches, read some interviews… got the whole backstory.
Then came the, uh, “fun” part. Translating all that into something… visual. I started with a mood board. Grabbed images, colors, anything that screamed “Ashley Flair” to me – strong, confident, a little bit flashy. Threw it all together in a big mess to get a feel for the vibe.
Next, I sketched out a bunch of rough ideas. Nothing fancy, just quick doodles to get the basic shapes and poses down. Tried to capture that energy, that “I’m the queen” attitude. This took way longer than I thought it would. I’m used to drawing, like, robots and spaceships, not… well, not this.
After that, I picked one of the sketches I didn’t completely hate and started refining it. Poured over the details, tweaked the pose, the expression, the outfit (which, let’s be honest, is a whole other universe in itself). Used reference photos like crazy to get the anatomy right. Don’t want to end up with some weird, broken-looking thing.
Then came the digital part. Brought the sketch into my tablet, started laying down the base colors. This is where it really started to take shape. I played around with different color palettes, trying to find something that felt both powerful and, you know, “Ashley Flair.” Ended up going with a lot of golds and purples, seemed to fit the whole queen thing.
Next up? Shading. Ugh. This is always the most tedious part for me. But it’s also what really brings the image to life. I spent hours painstakingly adding shadows and highlights, trying to give it depth and dimension. Used a bunch of different brushes to get the right textures.
And finally, the details. The little things that really make it pop. Added some glitter, some shine, some extra details to the outfit. Tweaked the lighting, adjusted the colors, just generally fiddled around until I was reasonably happy with it.
It wasn’t perfect, by any means. But hey, it was a learning experience. And honestly, it pushed me outside my comfort zone, which is always a good thing.

- Researched Ashley Flair.
- Created a mood board.
- Sketched rough ideas.
- Refined the chosen sketch.
- Digital painting: base colors.
- Shading and highlights.
- Added details and final touches.
Would I do it again? Maybe. But next time, I’m definitely watching more wrestling beforehand.
