Okay, so this week, week 14 for the FAAB stuff, it was kinda wild, let me tell ya.

Starting Out: Analyzing the Landscape
First things first, I always start by looking at the waiver wire. Gotta see who got dropped, who’s hot, and who’s just…there. I use a couple of different fantasy sites, you know, just to get a broader view. I spent a solid hour just sifting through stats, looking at recent performances, and trying to predict future usage. Basically, I wanted to find those hidden gems.
Spotting the Potential Gems
This week, I zeroed in on a couple of guys. There’s this wide receiver on the Bengals, total sleeper. He had a breakout game last week because of some injuries on the team. I figured, hey, if those guys are still out, he could be a decent flex play. Then there’s this running back on the Chargers. Not a starter, but their main guy has been kinda banged up. So, there’s always that chance he gets more carries.
Crunching the Numbers
After spotting these potentials, the real work begins. I dug deeper into their stats. I checked their snap counts, target shares, and even looked at the opposing defenses they’ll be facing. I’m no expert, but I try to get a sense of whether their previous performance was a fluke or if they actually have some talent. Plus, you have to factor in your own team’s needs. Do I need a receiver more than a running back? Is my starting tight end on a bye? All that stuff.
Crafting the Bids
Okay, now for the fun part – figuring out the FAAB bids. I never go all-in on one player. It’s too risky. I usually spread my FAAB around, make several bids. For the Bengals receiver, I went with a moderate bid, maybe 15% of my remaining budget. Figured there’d be some competition, but he wasn’t that hyped. The Chargers running back? I went a little lower, like 10%. He’s more of a gamble.

Submitting and Waiting (the Agony!)
Hit the submit button, and then…the waiting game. It’s the worst part. You’re second-guessing yourself, wondering if you bid too much, too little, if someone else saw the same potential. I usually try to distract myself with something, watch some TV, play a video game. But the waiver wire is always lurking in the back of my mind.
The Results Are In!
This week, I actually got both players! The Bengals receiver went for exactly what I bid, 15%. The running back, I got him for 8%! Score! Turns out, not as many people were high on him as I thought.
The Aftermath and Looking Ahead
So, I picked them up, slotted the receiver into my flex spot (fingers crossed!), and benched the running back. Now, it’s all about monitoring their progress, seeing if they live up to the hype, and adjusting accordingly. Fantasy football is a week-to-week thing, you know? Gotta stay vigilant. And already thinking about week 15. The grind never stops!
