So, I’d been thinking about getting a new cap for a while. Not just any cap, mind you. I specifically wanted a red fitted Yankees hat. Yeah, I know, usually they’re navy blue, right? That’s kind of why I wanted the red one. Stands out a bit, you know?
Finding the Right One
First step was actually finding the thing. You’d think it’d be easy, but not really. Lots of adjustable ones, snapbacks, dad hats… but the fitted ones, especially in bright red, took some looking.
I checked a couple of local stores first. Went into that big sports shop downtown. They had tons of Yankees gear, mostly blue, some black. Asked the guy working there about a red fitted one. He kinda looked at me funny, checked the back, came out empty-handed. Said they don’t usually stock that colour in fitted.
Okay, plan B. I went online. Started searching different hat websites. Found a few places that listed it. Now, the tricky part with fitted hats online is the size. You gotta know your exact size. I learned this the hard way years ago, ordered one that was too tight, gave me headaches.

- Checked the sizing charts on the websites. They can vary slightly, which is annoying.

Placed the order. Waited a few days for it to arrive. Honestly, I was half expecting the wrong size or color to show up.
Getting It and Wearing It
Package arrived. Opened it up. Looked right. The red was pretty vibrant, just like I wanted. The Yankees logo looked crisp. Moment of truth: trying it on.
Put it on my head. Fit was perfect. Snug, but not tight. Didn’t feel like it would fly off in a breeze, didn’t feel like it was squeezing my brain. That’s the whole point of getting a fitted hat, that perfect feel.
Been wearing it out quite a bit since then. It’s definitely different from the usual sea of navy blue caps. Get some looks, mostly curious I think. Feels good, though. Comfortable, solid hat. It does get dirty a bit quicker being red, gotta be careful with that. But yeah, happy I went through the trouble to find this specific one. Sometimes you just get an idea in your head, and you gotta see it through, right?
