Well, let me tell ya somethin’ ’bout Zach Edey and his mama. Now, this young fella, Zach, he’s all over the place, bein’ a big shot in basketball. Ain’t nobody can’t miss him, ‘cause he’s a giant on the court. But you know who else is tall? His mama, that’s who! Her name’s Julia, and I gotta say, she ain’t small by any means. This lady’s 6 feet 3 inches tall. Yep, you heard me right—6 feet 3 inches! That’s like two whole of me stacked on top of each other, maybe more!
Now, don’t get me wrong, 6 feet 3 inches is mighty tall for a woman, especially when you think about all the other ladies around. Most folks would be happy if they’re just 5 feet 5, but Julia? She’s got some serious height! And don’t you go thinkin’ it’s just a fluke. Nope, her height runs in the family. Zach’s mama was born in Toronto, just like Zach, and let me tell ya, her roots go way back to Chinese immigrants. So, it ain’t too surprising she grew tall like a bamboo shoot or somethin’!
But Julia ain’t just tall—she’s also smart as a whip. I hear she used to be a mechanical engineer before she retired. Can you believe that? I can’t even fix a leaky faucet, but she was out there fixin’ machines! Must be a real brainiac. These days, though, Julia keeps herself busy in other ways. When she’s not watchin’ her son dominate the basketball court, she’s out in her garden takin’ care of the plants, or even lookin’ after bees. Yep, bees! I guess she’s got herself a little apiary goin’. Ain’t that somethin’!
Now, I know a lotta folks are curious about how tall Zach’s mama is, ’cause that seems to be what everyone talks about. And rightfully so! I reckon if you stand next to her, you’d be lookin’ up—way up—just like you would if you were standin’ next to her son on the court. Zach, he takes after his mama in more ways than one. He’s a big fella too, standin’ at 7 feet 4 inches tall, which is just huge! He gets that height from her, no doubt. They make a mighty fine pair, don’t they?
But there’s more to Julia than just her height. As I mentioned, she’s retired now, but when she was workin’, she was a mechanical engineer, which is somethin’ a lotta folks wouldn’t expect from a lady. She didn’t just sit around at home like some folks might. She was out there, workin’ with machines and makin’ things happen. Quite the accomplishment, if you ask me! Now, she spends her days in the garden, probably with her bees buzzin’ around her, and tendin’ to her flowers and plants. Sounds peaceful, don’t it?
And I tell ya, Julia ain’t the only tall one in the family. When you see Zach out there on the court, you can tell he’s been blessed with some of his mama’s height. I reckon he’s probably even taller than her now! But Julia, she’s somethin’ special too, standin’ proud at 6 feet 3 inches. And even though she don’t play basketball or get all the fame and attention like her son, she’s got a big ol’ impact on his life. I bet that woman’s supportin’ Zach every step of the way, cheerin’ him on from the sidelines, whether she’s at the game or watchin’ it from home.
So, the next time you see Zach out there playin’, remember where he got some of that height from! His mama’s a tall one, and that’s somethin’ to be proud of. Ain’t too many folks walkin’ around at 6 feet 3 inches, but Julia sure is. She’s a real giant in her own right—just like her son.
