Well, if you’re askin’ about this feller, Jaleel McLaughlin, and how he’s gonna do in your fantasy league, lemme tell ya what I think. He’s a young lad playin’ for them Denver Broncos, and I hear he’s got some good moves on the field. Now, don’t get me wrong, I ain’t sayin’ he’s gonna carry your whole team, but he sure ain’t a bad pick if you need someone to fill in your RB2 spot in PPR leagues. He might surprise ya, I reckon.
So, what makes him special? Well, I’ve been hearin’ folks sayin’ he’s a real good pass-catcher. Now, in Sean Payton’s offense, that’s mighty important. You got to be able to catch that ball outta the backfield, and McLaughlin’s been showin’ he can do just that. He ain’t the biggest back in the world, but boy, he sure knows how to move quick, and that’s somethin’ you can use in a PPR format where every little catch counts.
Now, I ain’t gonna sugarcoat it, he’s not gonna be puttin’ up monster numbers like them big-time backs out there. His projections say he’s lookin’ at about 5.7 fantasy points a game in PPR leagues. That includes about 4 or 5 rushin’ attempts, which’ll give ya a handful of yards, maybe 24 or so, but he might not be punchin’ in touchdowns every week. He’s more of a guy who’s gonna catch a few passes for ya—around 1.6 receptions a game, for about 9 yards or so.
Is he worth it for your fantasy team? Well, it depends on what you need. If you’re in a pinch, maybe needin’ a backup for a bye week, or if your other backs are hurt, he could be a decent option to plug in. He might not get ya the most points, but he’s one of them players who could surprise ya now and then with a big play. If you’re in a deeper league, where you gotta pick up backups and hope for the best, he’s worth takin’ a chance on.
But now, don’t expect him to be the one carryin’ your team to the championship, ya hear? He’s more of a role player at this point. He’s just a small piece of that Broncos’ offense, but every little bit helps, don’t it?
What’s his future look like? I reckon as long as he stays healthy, and if the Broncos keep givin’ him chances in the pass game, his value might go up. He could be a decent flex play here and there, and if you’re in a league with PPR scoring, he might even give you some steady points off the bench. But like I said, don’t go expectin’ miracles. He’s a nice little add-on to your team, but he ain’t no stud.
In summary, Jaleel McLaughlin could be a solid choice if you need some help with your RB2 spot or need a backup for bye weeks. Keep an eye on his usage as the season goes on, ’cause if he starts gettin’ more chances, he could start rackin’ up some decent points. But don’t go puttin’ all your eggs in his basket just yet. There’s plenty of time left in the season to see how he fits into that offense.
