Alright, let’s talk about this McGregor fella and that Holloway boy, the ones always beatin’ each other up on TV. I don’t know much ’bout this fightin’ stuff, but my grandson, he watches it all the time, yellin’ at the screen like a wildcat. So, I picked up a thing or two.
First time they fought, way back in 2013, McGregor, he was somethin’ else. Beat the tar outta Holloway, that’s what my grandson said. Kicks, punches, elbows, the whole shebang. Holloway, he was just a young’un then, I guess. McGregor, he won fair and square, they called it a “unanimous decision,” whatever that means. Sounded fancy, but all I saw was McGregor whoopin’ on Holloway.
Now, McGregor, he’s a wild one, always gettin’ into trouble. My grandson says he talks a lot of smack, but he can fight, gotta give him that. He fought all sorts of fellas, won some, lost some. That Poirier fella, he gave McGregor a good beatin’ twice, my grandson was real upset about that. Then there’s that Cerrone fella, McGregor knocked him out quick, like a chicken gettin’ its head chopped off.
- McGregor beat Holloway back in 2013.
- McGregor fought a bunch of other guys, won some, lost some.
- Holloway kept fightin’ too, even after losin’ to McGregor.
Holloway, he ain’t no slouch neither. He kept fightin’ even after McGregor beat him. My grandson says he became a champion, held the belt for a long time. That Volkanovski fella, he gave Holloway some trouble though, beat him twice. My grandson said those fights were close, real nail-biters. Then, just recently, Holloway got knocked out by that Topuria guy. First time he ever got knocked out cold, poor fella. My grandson almost cried, he likes Holloway a lot.
So, you see, these fellas, they fight hard. McGregor, he was the big shot at first, beatin’ everyone up. Then Holloway, he got better, became a champ himself. They never fought again after that first time, which is a shame, my grandson says. He’d like to see them go at it again, see who’s the real boss. But, you know, these fighters, they got their own paths. Maybe they’ll fight again someday, maybe they won’t. It’s all the same to me, long as they don’t get hurt too bad.
This fightin’ business is rough. My grandson, he gets all excited, but I just worry about them gettin’ hurt. They get punched in the head, kicked in the legs, it can’t be good for ya. But I guess that’s what they like to do, so who am I to judge? They get paid good money for it, that’s for sure. More money than I ever seen in my life, that’s for darn sure.
Anyway, that’s the story of McGregor and Holloway, as far as I can tell. One beat the other a long time ago, and they both went on to do their own thing. Maybe they’ll fight again, maybe they won’t. It’s all the same to this old woman. I got my own worries, like makin’ sure the chickens are fed and the garden ain’t gettin’ eaten by them darn rabbits.
And another thing, my grandson, he keeps talkin’ about these “weight classes.” Says McGregor and Holloway, they used to fight at “featherweight,” whatever that is. Sounds like chickens to me. Then McGregor, he went up to “lightweight,” and fought bigger fellas. I don’t get it, why can’t they just fight? All this weight stuff, it’s too complicated for an old lady like me. All I know is, they get in that ring, and they try to knock each other’s heads off. And that’s enough for me.
So, there you have it. A little bit about McGregor and Holloway, from a woman who don’t know nothin’ about fightin’ but hears a whole lot about it from her grandson. It’s a rough business, but it sure gets folks riled up. Me? I’ll stick to my chickens and my garden. That’s enough excitement for one old lady.
