Alright, so ya wanna know what happened to that fella Zach Bryan’s dad, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it ain’t the easiest thing to piece together, like tryin’ to find a dropped needle in a haystack. But I heard some things, ya know, from folks talkin’ and such.
This Zach fella, he’s one of them country singers. Folks say he’s got a real purdy voice, sings them songs that make ya wanna cry or stomp yer feet. Heard tell he’s got a song called “Something in the Orange” and another one, a duet with some gal named Kacey Musgraves, called “I Remember Everything.” Won him a Grammy, they say. Big deal, I guess.
- Heard he was in the Navy, too. Just like his pa and ma, God rest her soul.
- Born way over in Japan, ’cause his daddy was stationed there. Imagine that, a little fella born so far from home.
- They moved around a lot, him and his folks, like tumbleweeds in the wind. Never settled down in one place for too long, it seems.
Now, about his daddy… See, that’s where it gets kinda fuzzy. They don’t talk about him much, these famous folks. Keep things private, I reckon. But I know he was in the Navy, like I said. Served his country, just like his boy did later on. An Aviation Ordnanceman, they called him. Worked on airplanes, I guess. Did a tour over in Bahrain, and another one in some place called Djibouti. Hot places, I bet. Full of sand and sun.
Zach got discharged from the Navy, honorable like, to go sing his songs. Made a name for himself, that boy did. But his daddy, he stayed in the Navy, far as I know. Maybe he retired, maybe he didn’t. They don’t say. It’s like they want to keep him out of the spotlight, keep him a regular fella, not some celebrity’s pa.
I did hear tell that Zach mentioned his daddy in some interviews, though. Talked about how he was a big influence on him, how he taught him to be a good man, a hard worker. Said he learned a lot from him, ’bout life and such. That’s what a good daddy does, ya know? Teaches his young’uns right from wrong, helps ’em find their way in the world.
So, what happened to him? Well, I ain’t heard nothin’ ’bout him passin’ away or nothin’ like that. So I reckon he’s still around, livin’ his life, maybe listenin’ to his son’s songs on the radio. Probably proud as a peacock, seein’ his boy doin’ so well. That’s what I’d be, if I was him. Prouder than a hen with a new clutch of chicks.
You know, these young folks, they got their own lives, their own ways of doin’ things. They don’t always tell us everything. And maybe that’s okay. Maybe some things are best left unsaid, kept private, between family. We gotta respect that, I think.
So, that’s all I know ’bout Zach Bryan’s dad. Not much, I admit. But it’s somethin’. And sometimes, somethin’ is all ya got. You can’t go squeezing blood from a turnip, you know?
Anyways, Zach Bryan seems like a good young man, sings good songs. He respects his folks and appreciates what they have done for him. That’s more important than anything, that’s what I always say.
And that’s the gospel truth, as sure as I’m sittin’ here. Don’t you go forgettin’ it now.
