Alright, let’s talk about this Rutgers basketball, you know, the college team. I heard some things, seen some things, and I’m gonna tell ya ’bout it, the way I see it. Don’t expect no fancy words, I just talk plain.
So, this Rutgers team, they got some new fellas, right? Young boys, like that Dylan Harper kid. Folks say he’s real good, a top player, number two or somethin’. He coulda gone anywhere, fancy schools like Tennessee, Kentucky, even that Kansas place. But he picked Rutgers. Why? Well, they say it’s ’cause Rutgers wanted him bad, treated him like family. That’s important, you know, family. He wanted to be where he’s wanted, not just where he wants to go. Makes sense to me. His own family can come see him play all the time too, that’s nice.
And there’s another boy, Bailey, I think his name is. He and Harper, they’re like two peas in a pod, real close. They wanted to play together, so they both went to Rutgers. Loyalty, that’s what it is. Stickin’ together.
- Harper, real good player, number two they say.
- Bailey, his friend, they play together.
- Rutgers wanted them bad, treated ’em like family.
Now, Rutgers, they ain’t been doin’ so hot on defense, ya know? They let the other teams score too many points. Seventy-five points a game, that’s a lot! And those three-pointers, they swishin’ ’em in easy. Rutgers gotta fix that. The coach, Pikiell, they say he’s gotta teach them boys how to play better defense. Gotta stop them other teams from scorin’ so much.
They got this other kid too, Trey McKenney. He’s a good one they’re tryin’ to get, a four-star player. Recruiting, they call it. Tryin’ to get the best young players to come play for Rutgers. It’s important, gotta have good players if you wanna win. They’re always talkin’ on the phone with these kids, tryin’ to convince ’em to come.
They were ranked number 24 at the start of the season. But they been waitin’ to play all their best players together. Three games in, and they still haven’t done it. Hope they figure it out soon. Gotta get those good players on the court together if you wanna win.
So, that’s the way I see it. Rutgers got some good young players, like Harper and Bailey. They gotta play better defense though, can’t let the other teams score so easy. And they gotta keep recruitin’ good players, like McKenney. If they do all that, maybe they’ll be a good team. We’ll see, right? It ain’t easy, winnin’ games. Gotta work hard, gotta play together. And maybe, just maybe, they’ll make us proud.
Rutgers basketball is tryin’ to get better. They got some good young players, they got a coach who’s supposed to be good, and they got people talkin’ about ’em. That’s somethin’, ain’t it? But talk is cheap. They gotta go out there and play. Gotta win some games. Gotta show folks they’re for real.
I ain’t no expert, but I know this: you gotta play hard, you gotta play smart, and you gotta play together. And you gotta have some luck, too. That’s basketball, and that’s life, I reckon.
Anyways, that’s what I heard about Rutgers basketball. Hope it made some sense to ya.
