Alright, let’s talk about this tennis fella, Draper. I heard some folks sayin’ he’s a good player, real good. But seems like he’s got some troubles, you know, like eatin’ right and keepin’ himself healthy.
Now, I ain’t no fancy doctor or nothin’, but even I know you gotta eat good if you wanna run around and hit that little yellow ball all day. My old man used to say, “You put garbage in, you get garbage out.” And that’s true for them tennis folks too, I reckon.
What to eat, huh? Well, it ain’t rocket science. You need stuff that gives you energy, like them potatoes and rice. And fruits too, they’re sweet and good for ya. My grandbaby loves them berries, always stuffin’ her face with ’em. And don’t forget the meat, gotta have some protein to keep them muscles strong. Chicken, fish, whatever you can get your hands on.
- Eat good before the game: Don’t go runnin’ around on an empty stomach, that’s just silly. Eat somethin’ that’ll stick with ya, like a good bowl of oatmeal or somethin’. Not too much though, you don’t wanna be feelin’ all heavy and slow.
- Eat good after the game too: You gotta put back what you used up, right? So eat some more good food, help your body get strong again.
- And what about them veggies? Yeah, you gotta eat them too. Greens and such. They got all them vitamins and minerals, keep you from gettin’ sick. My neighbor, she grows a whole garden full of ’em, always givin’ me some tomatoes and cucumbers.
This Draper fella, I heard he got sick in the middle of a game, throwin’ up and all. That ain’t right. Probably didn’t eat the right stuff, or maybe he ate somethin’ bad. Happens to the best of us, I guess, but you gotta be careful when you’re out there tryin’ to be a tennis star.
And then there’s this other time, he hurt himself and had to quit the game. That’s a shame. Maybe if he was eatin’ better, his body woulda been stronger, wouldn’t have gotten hurt so easy. You know, like them old cars, if you don’t put oil in ’em, they break down. Same thing with your body, gotta take care of it.
So, what’s the bottom line? Eat good food, that’s it. Don’t go fillin’ yourself up with junk. Eat your fruits and veggies, your grains and your meat. And drink plenty of water too, keep yourself hydrated. That’s what my grandma always told me, and she lived to be a hundred years old, so she musta known somethin’!
And don’t forget the fats neither. You need some fats, good fats, you know? Like from them nuts and avocados. Not too much, just a little bit to keep things runnin’ smooth. It’s like greasin’ a pan, gotta have a little somethin’ to keep things from stickin’.
It ain’t just about winnin’ games, you know? It’s about takin’ care of yourself. If you ain’t healthy, you ain’t gonna be doin’ much of anythin’, let alone playin’ tennis. So this Draper fella, he needs to listen to his body and give it what it needs. Good food, good rest, and maybe some of my chicken soup if he’s feelin’ under the weather!
And one more thing, don’t be skippin’ meals. That’s just plain foolish. You gotta eat regular, keep your energy levels up. It’s like feedin’ the fire, gotta keep addin’ wood or it’ll go out. So eat your breakfast, your lunch, and your supper. And maybe a little snack in between if you’re feelin’ peckish.
Anyways, that’s just my two cents. I ain’t no expert, but I know a thing or two about eatin’ good and stayin’ healthy. And if this Draper fella wants to be a tennis champion, he better start payin’ attention to what he puts in his mouth.
