Alright, let’s talk about this Cody fella, Cody Rhodes, and his fancy getup when he walks into the wrestling ring. You know, the stuff he wears.
First off, that mask he puts on, looks kinda spooky, like one of them Halloween things. Folks say it’s a winged skull, somethin’ called American Nightmare. Guess that’s his nickname or somethin’. He came back to wrestling in 2022, and that’s when he started wearin’ it. Makes him look…well, like a nightmare, I reckon. Cody Rhodes’ entrance gear always makes folks talk, that’s for sure.
And then there’s that jacket, the one with the bird on it. A phoenix, they call it. Big and bright, kinda reminds me of a rooster, but fancier. Says somethin’ about America, I hear. He talked about it once, said it was about showin’ respect, even to the smaller wrestling places. Said he ain’t too good for nobody. That’s good, I guess. Respect is important, even in wrestlin’. He ain’t no spring chicken anymore, this Cody.
There’s this lady, Sandra Gray, she makes all them fancy clothes for the wrestlers. Been doin’ it for years and years. She was gonna stop, retire, you know, but she still makes stuff for Cody. Must be special, him gettin’ his own personal clothes maker. Wrestling attire is a big deal, I hear. Makes ’em look the part, I suppose.

- The jacket – big bird, somethin’ about America.
- The clothes maker – Sandra lady, only works for Cody now.
Now, this Cody, he’s got a move, a special way he throws the other fellas down. They call it the Cody Cutter. Looks painful, makes the other guy go smack on the ground. Another fella does it too, calls it somethin’ else, but it’s pretty much the same thing. Cody’s a tough one, that’s for sure. Wrestling ain’t for the faint of heart, ya know.
This Cody fella, he’s the son of Dusty Rhodes, another wrestler. And he’s got a brother, Dustin, also a wrestler. Wrestling’s in their blood, I guess. Like farmin’ is in ours. You’re born into it, you stick with it. Cody Rhodes’ family is famous in the wrestling world.
They say this jacket of his is real popular. Folks wanna buy it, wear it themselves. Makes ’em feel like a champion, I heard. Well, good for them, I say. If a jacket can make ya feel good, why not? I wouldn’t wear it myself, too flashy for my taste. But these young folks, they like that kinda stuff.
And when he comes out, they lift him up from the floor, special entrance and all. Guess that’s ‘cause he’s important. Some folks, they think he’s been a bad guy, a “heel” they call it, for a while now. But I don’t know nothin’ ‘bout that. Wrestling’s confusing sometimes. Too much talkin’ and showin’ off, not enough wrestlin’, if you ask me. But they don’t ask me, do they?
I saw him on TV once, gettin’ ready to come out. They played it back a few times. He looked serious, ready to fight. That’s what they do, these wrestlers. They fight and they put on a show. And Cody, well, he’s good at puttin’ on a show. Cody Rhodes’ WWE return got everyone talkin’, that’s for sure.
So, that’s the deal with Cody Rhodes and his entrance gear. Spooky mask, fancy jacket, tough moves, and a whole lotta talk. He’s a wrestler, a showman, and folks seem to like him. Me? I’d rather watch a good cow auction, but to each their own, I say.
