Alright, let’s talk about this Collin Morikawa fella and that commercial he’s in. I saw it on the TV the other day, while I was waitin’ for my soaps to come on. Don’t rightly know what channel it was, but there he was, this young golfer fella.
Now, this commercial, it’s for somethin’ called Comcast Business. Don’t ask me what that is exactly, sounds like fancy city folks stuff to me. But from what I gather, it’s got somethin’ to do with helpin’ businesses run smoother, like makin’ sure their computin’ machines work good, I reckon.
The whole thing takes place on a golf course, a real pretty one too. They call it the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. Sounds important, I guess. Collin, he’s there with his caddy, a fella named JJ. Caddy’s the one who carries the golf clubs, in case you didn’t know. Seems like a lot of walkin’ around to me, but I guess that’s their job.
- So, in the commercial, Collin, he gets himself into a pickle. Ball goes all wayward, landin’ in some pine straw. Pine straw, that’s like them dried-up needles that fall from the pine trees, you know. Makes it hard to hit the ball, I imagine.
- But then, Comcast Business comes in, not literally, mind you. It’s more like, the commercial shows how their service helps Collin and JJ figure out the best way to hit the ball. They use some fancy computin’ machine, a laptop they call it, to look at the course and plan their shot.
- And wouldn’t you know it, Collin, he hits the ball just perfect. Goes right where it needs to go. Everybody cheers, and I reckon that means Comcast Business did its job, or somethin’ like that.
Oh, and there’s another fella in the commercial, a kinda loud, goofy lookin’ one. He’s eatin’ French fries and watchin’ Collin play. I heard someone say he’s an actor, played a golfer in a movie once. Can’t remember the name of it, but he was a real piece of work in that movie, always causin’ trouble.
Now, I ain’t no golf expert, not by a long shot. I prefer watchin’ the birds in my backyard, to be honest. But even I can see that this commercial is tryin’ to show how Comcast Business can help folks, even fancy golfers like Collin Morikawa. They make it seem like if you got their service, you can solve any problem, even hittin’ a golf ball outta the pine straw.
It’s a slick commercial, I’ll give ’em that. Real professional lookin’, with all them fancy cameras and whatnot. And Collin, he seems like a nice young man, polite and all. Though I still don’t quite understand what all that computin’ stuff has to do with hittin’ a golf ball. But I guess that’s why they call it business, right? Always tryin’ to sell you somethin’ you don’t need, or at least, somethin’ I don’t need.
The commercial shows Collin’s impossible shot. It seems like they want to tell people that Comcast can handle difficult problems and offer reliable connections. Makes sense I guess, if you think about it. If that fancy machine can help a golfer, it can probably help a fella runnin’ a store or somethin’ too.
Anyways, that’s my take on this Collin Morikawa commercial. It’s a bit confusing for an old woman like me, but it seems harmless enough. And who knows, maybe if I ever need to hit a golf ball outta the pine straw, I’ll give Comcast Business a call. Though I reckon I’d be better off just usin’ my broom, like I always do.
All this fancy stuff, sometimes I think it’s just makin’ things more complicated than they need to be. Back in my day, we didn’t have no laptops or fancy connections. We just figured things out ourselves. But that’s how it goes, times change and people change. And these commercials keep changin’ too.
But still, at the end of the day, it all comes down to hittin’ that little white ball, right? Or maybe keepin’ them computer machines workin’ good, if you’re one of them business folks. Either way, I hope they all have a good day and make a livin’ doin’ whatever they do. That’s all that matters, I reckon.
