Well, let me tell ya ’bout this Frisco Cricket League, ya know, the one they got over there in Frisco. Frisco Cricket League, that’s what they call it. Sounds fancy, huh? But it’s just a bunch of folks hittin’ a ball with a stick, kinda like baseball but different, ya see.
I heard tell it’s at 5828 Nancy Jane lane Frisco. That’s what some folks were sayin’. Don’t rightly know where that is, never been there myself. But they say that’s where the cricket folks gather.
Now, what’s this cricket all about? Well, from what I gather, it’s about hittin’ that ball and runnin’ around. They got teams, ya know, like a bunch of fellas playin’ together. And they got this FCL thing, that’s the Frisco Cricket League, I reckon. They sent out somethin’ sayin’ “Good Afternoon FCL, As of Monday July 15th.” Don’t rightly know what it means, but it sounds important, like they’re plannin’ somethin’.
- They got this League Info, whatever that is.
- And Grounds, I guess that’s where they play.
- And Documents, probably rules and such.
- Then there’s Umpires/Coaches/Scorers, sounds like a lot of fancy folks.
- And a DLS Calculator, no idea what that does.
- They even got a Photo Gallery and News and Articles. Seems like they’re doin’ a lot over there.
They say FCCA believes that Cricket can bring people together in an atmosphere of mutual respect. Well, that sounds nice, don’t it? Folks gettin’ together and bein’ respectful. That’s what they tell you. Can’t say I see it every day, mind you.
And there’s this Frisco Community Cricket, they say it’s a small club but they’re real serious ‘bout it. They teach cricket to everyone, young and old. They run exciting recreational training for all levels of ability. Sounds like fun, I guess, if you’re into that sort of thing.
They use somethin’ called CricClubs. They say CricClubs makes world-class technology, products, and services easily accessible to every cricket administrator, organizer, team manager, player. Sounds like a bunch of fancy talk to me, but I guess it helps them keep things organized. It’s all computers and such these days, not like when I was young.
If you wanna play this cricket, you gotta Join a Club, they say. Gotta find a good team and play in the leagues. That way you get to play real games and folks can see how good you are. Then you can Participate in Tournaments, show off your skills and maybe win somethin’. But you gotta Stay Fit, ya know. Cricket ain’t for couch potatoes, they say. Physical fitness is crucial in cricket. You gotta be able to run and hit and all that.
So, this Frisco Cricket League, it seems like a big deal to some folks. They got their games and their teams and their rules and all that. They even got a website, I heard, though I wouldn’t know how to use it. It’s all Tags:CricketFrisco, whatever that means. Seems like they’re tryin’ to get the word out, tellin’ everyone about cricket in Frisco. And you can Contact them, Log in, or Register, if you’re so inclined. Me? I’ll stick to watchin’ the birds, thank you very much.
Anyways, that’s what I know about this Frisco Cricket League. Not much, I admit, but enough to make you scratch your head and wonder what folks get up to these days. But hey, if it makes ’em happy, more power to ’em, I say. Just as long as they don’t come trompin’ through my flower garden.
