Well, let me tell you ’bout this fella, Bryce Harper. Folks say he’s a big deal in baseball, plays for some team or other. Don’t know much about that, but I hear he’s good at hittin’ balls and catchin’ ’em too.

Now, this Bryce, he got himself hitched a while back. Married his high school sweetheart, Kayla, they call her. Seems like a nice enough gal. They got themselves a whole passel of young’uns. A boy, Krew, I think they named him, born in 2019, and a little girl, Brooklyn, in 2020, and I hear tell there’s another girl now, but I can’t keep up with all them young folks’ names and birthdays. They seem like a happy family, though, which is more than some folks can say these days.
Bryce Harper, a Good Man, They Say
People are always talkin’ ’bout how Bryce is a good man, a “role model” they call it. Guess that means he does right by folks. Heard a story ’bout him seein’ somethin’ on the news and decidin’ to help out a kid in need. That’s the kind of thing that warms an old lady’s heart, you know? Just doin’ somethin’ good ’cause you can.

This Bryce, he gives money to them “charities,” places that help folks out. Dream Foundation and Make-A-Wish, somethin’ like that. They help sick folks and kids who got big dreams, I reckon. And he helps out with that cancer stuff too. Lost my sister to that, awful thing it is. So, it’s good to see someone tryin’ to do somethin’ ’bout it.
Harper’s Heroes, Help for Washington City
Heard tell Bryce started somethin’ called “Harper’s Heroes” way back when he was just a young fella, barely 20 years old. Seems he wanted to help out the folks in Washington, the city where he played ball before, I guess. That’s a good thing, rememberin’ where you come from and givin’ back.
Big Money for the Virus Troubles
Now, this here coronavirus, that’s been a real mess, hasn’t it? Folks gettin’ sick, losin’ their jobs. Bryce and his missus, Kayla, they didn’t just sit around. They gave a whole heap of money, half a million dollars, they say, to help folks in Las Vegas, where they’re from, and Philly, where they live now. That’s a lot of money, even for rich folks, I imagine. Shows they care, don’t it?
That time he helped that boy, Caleb.
I even heard this story ‘bout a young boy, Caleb, I think his name was, only seven years old, at a ball game, and he got separated from his family. This boy had a front row seat to watch Bryce play but there he was all alone. Well, I don’t know all the details, but somehow Bryce made sure the boy was taken care of until he could get back to his folks. Just shows you the kind of fella he is, not just thinkin’ about himself all the time.
Bryce Harper, Philly’s Sports God?
Folks in Philly, they really like this Bryce fella, I tell ya. I even heard he said somethin’ ’bout bein’ the “greatest sports god” in Philly, but I don’t know nothin’ ’bout that. Sounds like somethin’ them young fellas would say, full of themselves, you know? But hey, if he’s doin’ good things for folks, I guess he can call himself whatever he wants.
Bryce Harper Charity: A Good Thing
So, there you have it. That’s what I know ’bout this Bryce Harper and his “charity” stuff. Seems to me he’s a good fella, tryin’ to do right by folks. And that’s all that really matters in this world, ain’t it? Just doin’ what you can to help out, whether you’re hittin’ baseballs or just lendin’ a hand to your neighbor. That’s what I always say.
More than Just Baseball
Seems to me, Bryce Harper is more than just a baseball player. He’s a family man, a helper, and someone who cares about his community.
