Alright, let me tell ya ’bout this WWE Bangor thing. I ain’t no expert, but I’ll tell ya what I know.
So, this WWE, they come to Bangor, Maine, right? They do these wrestling shows, big fellas and gals smackin’ each other around. Sounds like a hoot, don’t it? They call it WWE Live sometimes. It ain’t like that fancy TV stuff, ya know, the Monday Night Raw. They had that once in Portland, way back when, but mostly it’s these live shows here in Bangor.
Now, they got this big event, SummerSlam. That’s the real deal, the big shebang, second biggest of the whole year they say. But that ain’t what comes to Bangor. We get the WWE Live Holiday Tour. Happens around the holidays, makes sense, right?
- WWE Live: That’s the regular show they bring to Bangor.
- SummerSlam: Big, fancy event, but not in Bangor.
- Monday Night Raw: Fancy TV show, only been to Maine once, in Portland.
- WWE Live Holiday Tour: The holiday-themed show they do.
They have these shows at the Cross Insurance Center. Nice place, big enough for all them wrestling fans. Seems like folks really like it, ’cause they got them 4 or 5 star reviews. People come from all over, I reckon, to see these fellas wrestle.
I heard tell they had a show there recent-like. Saturday night, I think. Folks was talkin’ ’bout it at the diner. Said it was a good time, lots of action. Big fellas slammin’ each other, just like ya see on TV, but live, right there in front of ya.
Now, I ain’t never been to one of these things myself. Too much noise for this old gal. But my grandson, he loves it. Watches it on TV all the time. Yells at the screen, jumps around, you know how kids are. He went to that show last Saturday, came back all excited. Said it was the best thing ever. Talked my ear off ’bout it for hours.
He was tellin’ me about this fella, real big guy, muscles like a bull. And this other fella, smaller but quick as a whip. They went at it, he said, back and forth, slammin’ and punchin’. Sounded like a real donnybrook. He was on the edge of his seat the whole time, he said.
And the crowd, oh my, the crowd! He said it was packed, everybody screamin’ and cheerin’. Kids and grown-ups alike, all gettin’ into it. Made me think maybe I shoulda gone, just to see what all the fuss was about. But then I remembered the noise and decided against it. My ears ain’t what they used to be.
So, this WWE Bangor thing, it’s a pretty big deal around here. Folks look forward to it. It’s entertainment, ya know? Something different to do. Gets folks out of the house, gives ’em somethin’ to talk about. And that ain’t a bad thing, not at all.
And it ain’t just the wrestlin’ neither. It’s good for Bangor, too. Brings in folks, they spend money at the stores, the restaurants, the hotels. Keeps things goin’, ya know? So, even if you ain’t a wrestlin’ fan, it’s hard to argue with that.
This whole WWE in Bangor thing, it’s got a history. They been comin’ here for years, I think. Not always the big TV shows, but these live events, yeah. Folks appreciate it. Gives ’em a chance to see somethin’ special, somethin’ they can’t see every day.
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to do in Bangor, and you don’t mind a bit of noise and a whole lotta action, check out the WWE Live when they come to town. You might just have a good time. Just don’t expect me to be there. I’ll be at home with a cup of tea, thank ya very much.
And that’s about all I know about WWE coming to Bangor, Maine. It’s a wrestling show, folks seem to like it, and it’s good for the town. What more ya need to know?
