Alright, let’s talk about this fella, Carson Wentz, and his college days, you know, like them young’uns do before they get all famous.
Carson Wentz’s College Football Stint
So, this Carson Wentz, he wasn’t no city slicker, ya know? He come from a small town, one of them places where everybody knows everybody and their dog. That’s where he started playin’ football, way back when.
- He went to North Dakota State, that’s where he played college ball.
- They call ’em the Bison, big ol’ furry creatures, just like the team, strong and tough.
Now, I ain’t no expert on this football stuff, but I heard tell that Wentz, he was a real good player, even back then. He played quarterback, you know, the guy who throws the ball. And boy, could he throw it!
In his last year, they say he was somethin’ special. Led the team, won games, the whole shebang. He wasn’t just chuckin’ the ball around, though. He could run with it too, like a scared rabbit, but faster and bigger, of course. This boy, he had talent, that much was clear.
From Small Town to the NFL
Folks ’round here, they say his high school coach, he really lit a fire under Wentz. Told him he could make it big, play in the NFL, you know, the big leagues. And wouldn’t you know it, the boy done did it! Went from throwin’ balls in a small town to throwin’ ’em on TV for the whole country to see.
That’s a long way, ain’t it? From playin’ in front of a few folks bundled up in blankets to thousands screamin’ their lungs out. But that’s what hard work and a good arm will get ya, I guess.

Now, things have changed a bit for Wentz. He ain’t the main man no more, not like he was in college or when he first got to the NFL. He’s playin’ backup now, seein’ as how he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs to be behind that fella, Patrick Mahomes, who they say is the best darn quarterback around.
It’s the first time Wentz ain’t been the star, the main attraction. He’s holdin’ the clipboard now, waitin’ for his chance. But that’s life, ain’t it? Sometimes you’re up, sometimes you’re down, just gotta keep on keepin’ on.
Looking Back at the College Days
But let’s get back to them college days. That’s where it all started for Wentz. He was a standout player at North Dakota State, learned the ropes, and got himself noticed. It ain’t easy makin’ it to the NFL, you know. Takes more than just talent. Takes grit, determination, and a whole lotta practice. And Wentz, he had all that and then some.
He weren’t no slouch in the classroom neither, I hear. Got himself an education, just in case this football thing didn’t work out. Smart boy, that Wentz. Always good to have a backup plan, ya know? Life’s full of surprises, and you never know when you might need somethin’ to fall back on.
They say he threw for a whole bunch of yards and touchdowns in his final season. I don’t know exactly how many, numbers ain’t my strong suit. But it was a lot, enough to impress them NFL scouts, that’s for sure. And that’s what got him drafted, you see. Gave him the chance to play on the big stage, to make somethin’ of himself.
And let me tell you, folks ’round here were proud. Proud of their boy, the small-town kid who made it big. It gives hope to all them young’uns out there, shows ’em that anything’s possible if you put your mind to it and work hard.
So yeah, Carson Wentz, he went to college, played some ball, and turned himself into a pretty good quarterback. And even though he’s a backup now, he’s still got that small-town spirit, that work ethic, that grit. And who knows, maybe he’ll get another shot at being the star. But even if he don’t, he’s still done alright for himself, that’s for sure.
He ain’t no spring chicken no more, born way back in 1992. Time flies, don’t it? Seems like just yesterday he was a young fella throwin’ the pigskin in college, and now he’s a veteran in the NFL. Life sure is somethin’ else.
Wentz started 13 games back in 2017 and won a bunch of them. He had a real good record, threw for thousands of yards, and lots of touchdowns. Folks were sayin’ he was gonna be the next big thing. He could run the ball too, not just throw it. A real all-around player, that’s what he was. But things change, you know, that’s the way it goes. Football’s a tough game. Injuries, competition, it’s a whole different world up there.
