Oh, honey, you wanna talk about that Mavs vs. Wolves game, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it’s a real hootenanny! That basketball, it goes bouncin’ and bouncin’, and them boys, they run faster than a chicken with its head cut off!
Now, I ain’t no fancy city slicker with them you know, cable boxes, but folks around here, they found ways to watch them games. Some folks use them “streaming” thingamajigs. I seen ’em typin’ on their phone with a, you know, “promo code” to watch that Mavs game. Sounds like some kinda secret, huh? They say it’s somethin’ called “WOLVESBOGO2024”, you type it in and they say you get two months for, oh, I don’t know, a few bucks. Sounds complicated to me, I just like to sit on my porch.
I hear them young folks talkin’ ’bout “MavsTV“, somethin’ new they got goin’. They say startin’ October 26th, you can watch them games for free on the regular TV, channels 8.1 and 29.1. Seventy extra games, they say! That’s more than my old rooster has feathers!
Then there’s somethin’ called “Fubo” somethin’. I don’t rightly know, but you can watch it on that thing too. These young folk, they got all sorts of ways to see them play.
And another thing, you won’t see them on that YouTube TV, no sir. They say it’s ’cause of some “blackout” thing. Sounds like somethin’ outta one of them spy movies, don’t it? They say if you want to watch some games, you need somethin’ called “NBA League Pass.” Lordy, it is all so much to keep up with.
Some folks say one team is the Dallas Mavericks. They the ones from Texas, I reckon. They got some tall fellas on that team, I tell ya. Jump higher than a grasshopper in a hot skillet. They say they the ones with the new TV thing.
Then there’s the other team, the Minnesota Timberwolves. Now, I ain’t too familiar with them, but I hear they got some good players too. They got that one fella, he can dribble that ball like a spider spinnin’ a web. Quick as a wink, he is.

- Lots of folks tryin’ to watch it.

- But no YouTube TV for them Mavs.
Now, I seen a game once, years ago. Went to the city, visited my cousin, bless her heart. She took me to one of them games. Loudest thing I ever heard! People yellin’, music playin’, and that ball just bouncin’ and bouncin’. It was somethin’ else, I tell ya.
I remember one time, this one fella, he threw the ball from way, way back. Must’ve been a mile away! And it went right in the hoop! Swish! Just like that. The crowd went wild, I thought they was gonna tear the roof off the place.
These days, I mostly just hear about the games from the neighbors. They get all excited, talkin’ ’bout who won, who lost, who made the best shots. It’s all a bit much for me, but it’s fun to listen to them get all riled up.
They say these Mavs and Wolves, they playin’ again soon. May 24th, I think I heard someone say. Friday, that is. Probably be another big to-do. Everyone tryin’ to figure out how to watch it, typin’ in them codes, and all that. Lordy, young people these days.

So, that’s what I know about that Mavs vs. Wolves game. It’s a big deal, lots of folks watchin’, and them boys, they sure can play. It’s all a bit much for an old lady like me, but it’s fun to hear about. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I think I hear my old cat meowin’. He probably wants some supper. You take care now, ya hear?
Oh, and one more thing. If you’re in the area, you can watch the Mavs on somethin’ called KFAA. That’s what they say, anyway. I stick to my radio, myself. Less fuss.
These new things like MavsTV are here to stay I guess. I still don’t understand them much but I can see people like it.
