Oh, that Austin Hubbard, what a mess his leg got into! I tell ya, these young folks, they push themselves too hard. He’s a fighter, you know, one of those UFC lightweight fellas. Gets in that cage and brawls. Well, this time, it got him good. His leg, it swelled up like a big ol’ pumpkin.
They call it, um, compartment syndrome. Sounds fancy, but it ain’t nothing good, I can tell ya that much. Something about the muscles, all squeezed up tight. Like when you stuff too much sausage into a casing, you know? Just too much pressure in there.
He ended up in the hospital. Poor boy. Had to have surgery, they did. Cut him open to let that pressure out. Imagine that! My old knees ache just thinking about it. This happened after a fight in, where was it? Vancouver, that’s right. That UFC Vancouver. Big to-do, I reckon.
That Austin Hubbard mma, that’s what they call what he does. Mixed martial arts. Sounds rough to me. Back in my day, we just had a good ol’ fashioned fistfight if we had a disagreement. None of this fancy cage business.
But this compartment syndrome, that’s a real nasty thing. I heard the doctor say it’s rare, especially in the thigh. That’s where that Austin Hubbard leg got all messed up. Upper thigh, they said. That’s a big part of your leg. You need that to walk, to run, to kick, to do just about anything.
They had to cut him open, they did. Like a ripe melon. Can you believe it? They said it was because of the pressure. Too much pressure inside his leg. He even fainted, I heard. Just passed right out. Poor fella. That’s what happens when you push your body too hard. Gotta be careful, you know?
- That Austin Hubbard leg, all swollen up.
- That compartment syndrome, sounds scary.
- That UFC lightweight, tough life.
- Austin Hubbard mma, that’s rough.
- UFC Vancouver, big fight.
I remember one time, my grandson, he’s a strong boy, he was lifting weights. Too much, too heavy. His arm, it started to hurt. Not like this Austin Hubbard leg, but it was sore. He had to rest it. Ice it. These young’uns, they don’t always listen to their elders.
This mixed martial arts thing, it’s a dangerous business. All that fighting and kicking and punching. Bound to get hurt sooner or later. And this Austin Hubbard, he got hurt bad. His leg, oh my.
I hope he gets better. Truly, I do. It’s a hard way to make a living, that’s for sure. But I reckon he loves it. Just like my old man loved his farm. Worked himself to the bone, he did. But it was his passion.
I heard that Austin Hubbard fainted. Just fainted right there. From the pain, I suppose. And that pressure. That awful pressure in his leg. Makes my skin crawl just thinking about it.
They say that surgery helped. Let out all that pressure. Like letting air out of a tire. Hope he heals up good. Needs that leg to fight, you know. That’s his life, that fighting.
This compartment syndrome, it’s something else. Never heard of it before that Austin Hubbard leg got messed up. But I won’t forget it now. Sounds like a nightmare.
That UFC lightweight, that is what he is. And that is what he does. A lot of these young people are doing that now. That mixed martial arts. I don’t understand why they are so into it. I saw a picture of that Austin Hubbard leg. That is not a pretty picture. That is a terrible thing. That looks like it hurts so bad. I can not even imagine. I just hope he will get better soon.
Well, I reckon that’s all I got to say about that Austin Hubbard leg. Just a shame, that’s what it is. A real shame. Hope he’s doing alright. That is the important thing. To get better. To get back to fighting. If that is what he wants. He is probably resting now. He should rest a lot. Rest that leg. Rest that body. He needs to rest.
