So, I’ve always been a huge fan of the New York Yankees. I mean, who isn’t, right? Their logo is just so iconic. Anyway, I decided it was time to add another cap to my collection, and I’ve been eyeing this black-on-black Yankees cap for a while now. It’s just so sleek and cool.
I finally pulled the trigger and ordered it online. It was from ’47, you know, the brand that makes those “Clean Up” hats. I think they call it the “Alternate Color Clean Up Adjustable Hat.” Whatever the name, it looked awesome in the pictures.
When it arrived, I was stoked. The quality was top-notch. The stitching was perfect, and the material felt durable. I checked the internal labels, and it clearly showed the brand, country of manufacture, size, and materials, just like a real authentic cap should have. It’s a “one size fits all” kind of deal with an adjustable strap at the back, which is great because I have a weird-shaped head.
The cap is all black, and the Yankees logo is also black, but it’s raised and embroidered, so it still stands out. It’s a pretty stealthy look. I guess you could say it’s a more subtle way to show off my Yankees pride. I’ve worn it out a few times, and I’ve gotten a few compliments. It’s definitely a conversation starter.
- First thing I did was wear it to a baseball game.
- Next, I wore it out to a bar with some friends.
- Then I wore it to the grocery store. You know. Casual flex.
I also learned a little bit about the history of the Yankees cap. Apparently, the pinstripes weren’t to make Babe Ruth look slimmer, which is what I always thought. And this guy Spike Lee, the filmmaker, actually asked for a red Yankees cap back in ’96, which kind of started the whole trend of different colored caps. Pretty cool, huh?
Anyway, I’m super happy with my new New York Yankees Black On Black Cap. It’s comfortable, it looks great, and it’s a nice addition to my collection. If you’re a Yankees fan, or just like cool hats, I definitely recommend checking it out.
Gotta love the Yankees!
I’m thinking my next purchase will be one of those fitted New Era 59Fifty caps. Those are classic. But for now, this black-on-black one is my go-to.
