Then, out of the blue, they started dropping hints about a new mascot. I kept seeing whispers online, you know, the usual rumors and speculation. Finally, they made the big announcement – they were introducing a new mascot, and his name was Franklin. Now, I’m a sucker for a good mascot, so I was hyped. They unveiled him at the Franklin Institute, which, honestly, was a pretty cool move.
The Big Day
I went down to the unveiling, of course. There were a ton of kids there, all buzzing with excitement. And then, there he was – Franklin, this big, fluffy, blue dog. Honestly, he’s pretty adorable. The kids went nuts, and even I had to crack a smile. He’s got this goofy energy that’s just infectious.

After the initial excitement, I started doing a little digging. I wanted to know more about Franklin, the whole backstory, you know? Turns out, the new owners wanted a change from the old mascot, Hip Hop. Guess they wanted a fresh start. Makes sense, I suppose. Franklin’s supposed to represent the “spirit of the team” and bring some fun to the games. He’s often at the home games, doing all sorts of things.

Now, I follow Franklin on social media. You can see he’s got a lot of followers already. He’s always posting fun stuff, behind-the-scenes photos, interacting with fans. It’s clear that he’s become a big part of the Sixers family. You see him at games, dancing around, taking pictures with fans, the whole nine yards. He’s definitely living up to the hype.
It’s been cool to see Franklin become such a big part of the Sixers’ identity. He brings a lot of energy and excitement to the games, and the fans seem to love him.
