Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another one of my little experiments. Today, I’m gonna be talking about Stacy Margolin. Now, I ain’t no expert on this lady, but I did a little digging around and thought I’d share what I found.
So, first off, I started with a simple search. Typed her name into the search bar, and boom, tons of stuff popped up. Turns out, Stacy Margolin wasn’t just your average Jane. She was a big deal in the tennis world back in the day.
Tennis Star
I started scrolling through the results, clicking on a few things here and there, just to get a feel for her story. Turns out, this lady was a tennis pro, ranked 18th in the world at one point. 18th! Can you believe it? That’s huge.
- She was a top player in Southern California. Yep, number one ranked junior tennis player. Not bad, right?
- She played for USC. Turns out, she was a singles champion there, too. This lady was collecting titles like they were going out of style.
- All-American, twice. 1977 and 1978. Like i say she is really good.
From Tennis to Pickleball
But here’s where it gets interesting. After her tennis career, Stacy didn’t just fade away. Nope, she switched gears and started playing pickleball. And guess what? She’s killing it in that sport, too!
- She’s a signed premier player. In the National Pickleball League, no less. It’s like she traded her tennis racket for a pickleball paddle and didn’t miss a beat.
- She competed in the USA Pickleball National Championships. In Dallas. At the Brookhaven Country Club. Fancy, right?
The Left-Handed Wonder
I found some stuff about her playing style. She’s a lefty, it seems, with a two-handed backhand. I can only imagine how tough that was to go up against on the court. She is 65 years old, the age can not stop her passion.
My Takeaway
So, after spending a good chunk of time reading about Stacy Margolin, what did I learn? Well, for starters, this woman is a legend. She conquered the tennis world and then decided to take on pickleball, too. She’s a competitor, through and through. And she’s from Ojai, which sounds like a pretty cool place.
It just goes to show, you can’t keep a good athlete down. They’ll always find a way to compete, to push themselves, to be the best. Stacy Margolin is proof of that.
That’s all I got for now, folks. Hope you enjoyed this little deep dive into the world of Stacy Margolin. Catch you all later!
