Alright, so you wanna know about this Adrian Santana fella, huh? Well, lemme tell ya what I’ve heard. This young’un, Adrian Santana, seems like he’s a baseball player, plays that shortstop thing. You know, the guy in the middle of the field, always catching balls and throwin’ ’em around.
Now, they say he’s a switch hitter, means he can bat from both sides, lefty and righty. Handy, I tell ya, handy. Like me, I can use both hands to knead dough, makes things faster. This boy, Adrian, he’s not too big, about my grandson’s size, maybe a bit taller. They say five foot eleven, hundred and fifty-five pounds, somethin’ like that.
Born in Hialeah, that’s down in Florida, I think. Or maybe there’s another Adrian Santana, born in Tamayo, in ’03. Two Adrian Santanas? Could be. Kids these days, all got the same names. Anyway, the one we’re talkin’ ’bout, the baseball player, he’s young, born in 2005. Just a pup, really.
Seems like he started off the season kinda slow, like a rusty tractor. But then, bam! He got his groove back. Started hittin’ the ball good, almost .300 they say. That’s pretty good, even I know that. Means he’s getting on base, helpin’ his team. They got all these fancy numbers for it too, wRC+ and such, but I don’t bother with that. If he’s hittin’, he’s hittin’, simple as that.
- Batting: They say he bats good, both sides.
- Position: Shortstop, the guy in the middle.
- Size: Not too big, kinda skinny.
- Born: Hialeah, Florida, 2005. (Or maybe there’s another one from Tamayo born in ’03, who knows)
Now, some folks, they’re lookin’ at him, scouts they call ’em. They watch him play, see how he hits, how he throws, how he runs. And they decide if he’s good enough for the big leagues, you know, the pros. They talk about his “bat,” like it’s some kinda magic wand. Well, I guess in baseball, it kinda is. If you can hit, you can go far. That’s what they say anyway.
Seems like this Adrian fella played for some team called DSL Cubs Red and DSL Cubs Blue. Don’t know what that is, some kinda farm team, I reckon. Like young chickens before they become full-grown hens. And they released him too, from DSL Cubs Red. Maybe he wasn’t good enough, or maybe he moved on, I don’t rightly know. Baseball is a fickle business, like the weather. One day you’re sunshine, next day you’re rain.
So, is this Adrian Santana gonna be a star? Who knows? It all depends on how hard he works, how lucky he gets, and if he can keep hittin’ that ball. It’s like plantin’ corn, you gotta tend to it, water it, and pray for good weather. Nothin’s guaranteed in this life, nothin’ at all.
But hey, he’s young, got potential, they say. And that’s somethin’, I guess. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens. Maybe he’ll make it big, maybe he won’t. Life’s a gamble, ain’t it? Just like playin’ bingo, sometimes you win, sometimes you don’t. But you gotta keep playin’ the game, that’s what matters. And this Adrian Santana, he’s playin’ the game, that’s for sure.
