Hey guys, I’ve been digging into this whole New World Order, or nWo, thing in the wrestling world lately. It’s a pretty wild ride, so I thought I’d share my notes and what I’ve been up to.
So, I started by trying to figure out who’s actually in this nWo group. I mean, it seems like it was this huge thing in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and even in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). First I grabbed my laptop and did a quick search.
Then I started making a list. Initially, I found out that the original crew was just four big names. They called these folks “megastars”, such a funny word, but I guess it fits. Apparently, it all kicked off after some event called “Bash at the Beach.” That’s when Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall were like, “Surprise! We’re the nWo!” Oh, and they were backed by this “Million Dollar Man” Ted Dibiase guy. He was the fourth member, the money guy, you know?
But here’s where it gets crazy. The group just kept growing. I spent hours, honestly, just tracking down names, it felt like. It seemed like everyone and their mom wanted to join the nWo. Ended up with more than twenty people on my list. No joke!
Then, I stumbled upon this podcast, “83 Weeks,” where Eric Bischoff was talking about what might have happened if Hulk Hogan wasn’t the third guy to join. Can you believe it? He said it might have been Sting! I listened to the whole episode, and it got me thinking, how would that have changed things? Would it still have been as big?
- Original nWo members:
- Hulk Hogan
- Kevin Nash
- Scott Hall
- Ted Dibiase (the funder)
And just when I thought I had a handle on it, I saw this wild rumor about John Cena joining as a new member of the nWo in the current WWE! I immediately wrote it down. I was like, “No way!” Can you imagine? Randy Orton and John Cena teaming up under the nWo banner? It’s nuts to think about.
So, I kept digging, kept adding to my list. It’s been a wild goose chase, to be honest. But it’s been fun. I ended up with this massive list of names. It’s like a who’s who of wrestling from that era. Honestly, I’m still not sure I got everyone, but I’m pretty proud of my list. Maybe I’ll make a chart or something later. For now, I need a break from all this wrestling madness!
