Okay, so I was messing around with this crossword puzzle today, and I got stuck on this clue, “Baseball Hall of Famer Robin.” I’m not a huge baseball guy, but I know a few big names. This one had me stumped, though.
I started to look around online, trying to find some answers. I typed in the clue and saw a bunch of these crossword solver sites. I guess these things are pretty popular, huh? Most of the sites were all saying the same thing – that there were like 30 or 40 possible answers. It felt a little daunting, I guess they just pull every possible combination and throw it out there.
- I clicked on a couple of them.
- Most of them listed “YOUNT” as a possible answer.
- Apparently, there’s this guy named Robin Yount who’s in the Hall of Fame.
I learned that there was one specific answer that showed up twice, “YOUNT”.
I decided to try this “YOUNT” out, and it fit perfectly in the puzzle! There’s this guy named Robin Yount, and he’s a Hall of Famer, so the answer is for sure YOUNT.
I also read about some other baseball player named Enos Slaughter, nicknamed “Country.” It said, “To be a big league ball player, you have to love the game.” I found another baseball player named Johnny Lee “Blue Moon” Odom.
What I learned today:
Crossword puzzles can be tricky, but there are a bunch of websites that can help you out if you get stuck. And apparently, Robin Yount is a pretty big deal in baseball! I guess you learn something new every day, right?
Anyway, that’s my little adventure from today. Maybe I’ll try another crossword tomorrow. We’ll see!
