Alright, so I’ve been getting a lot of questions lately about what’s in my golf bag. Specifically, folks are curious about what Brooks Koepka, that pro golfer, carries around in his. Koepka, yeah, he’s that guy on the LIV Golf league, killing it with the most wins, five of them! So, I did a little digging and thought, why not share my findings, especially since I’ve been tweaking my own setup too.
First off, let me tell you, figuring out what a top-level golfer like Koepka uses is no small task. He’s signed with Nike for his clothes and Srixon for his tour bag. The man’s been with Nike since 2016, same as Tony Finau and Denny McCarthy. But it gets more interesting when you look at his clubs.
So, here’s what I did. I started by looking into his irons. I used to play with Mizuno irons, just like Koepka did in his four major wins. I eventually switched to the Srixon ZX7 irons in early 2021, and then moved to the ZX7 MKIIs in late 2022. Koepka did exactly the same thing. These are pretty awesome because they’re really compact.
- Irons: Srixon ZX7 MKII. I started with Mizuno, moved to Srixon ZX7, and then upgraded to the MKII. They feel great, and they’re sleek.
Then, I looked into his putter. I’m currently using a Scotty Cameron T10 Select Newport 2 Proto. It’s a solid choice, gives me good control on the greens. And guess what? Koepka is using the same putter.
- Putter: Scotty Cameron T10 Select Newport 2 Proto. It’s a classic for a reason. Gives you that nice, smooth stroke.
Next up, I checked out his grips. Now, grips might not seem like a big deal, but trust me, they can make or break your game. I prefer Golf Pride Tour Velvet Cord grips, midsize, and I go with the round ones. They just feel right in my hands. And guess what? Koepka’s got the same ones on his clubs. It’s all about that consistent feel, you know?
- Grips: Golf Pride Tour Velvet Cord, midsize. They’re just the best for getting a good hold.
After that, I checked his 3-iron. I’m still using a Nike Vapor Pro 3-iron. It’s a bit older, but it’s reliable, and I like how it plays. Koepka still uses his, too. It’s kind of cool to think about, you know, a pro sticking with a club that’s been around for a while.
- 3-iron: Nike Vapor Pro. An oldie but a goodie. Gets the job done.
Lastly, I took a peek at his golf ball. I’m currently using the Srixon Z-Star Diamond. It’s a great ball, good distance, good control around the greens. And yeah, you guessed it, Koepka’s using the same one.
- Golf Ball: Srixon Z-Star Diamond. This ball just flies, and it’s great around the green too.
So, there you have it. That’s what I found out about Brooks Koepka’s bag, and a bit about my own setup. It’s interesting to see how a top pro balances his gear, and it’s given me some ideas for my own game. Hope this was helpful for you guys! Keep swinging!
