Well, let me tell ya ’bout this Bryant University women’s basketball team. They call ’em the Bulldogs, you know, like them tough little dogs.
The Bryant Bulldogs, that’s what they are. They play in this thing called Division I, which I guess is a pretty big deal. They’re in somethin’ called the America East Conference now. Used to be in somethin’ else, NEC they called it, but they switched over. Don’t ask me why, these young folks and their changin’ things all the time.
So, these girls, they run around on the court, throwin’ a ball and tryin’ to get it in a hoop. Sounds simple enough, right? But it ain’t, lemme tell ya. They got all sorts of rules and plays and whatnots. I don’t understand half of it, but I sure do like watchin’ ’em go. They got speed, these girls, and they sure are tough.
Now, they just put out their schedule for the 2024-25 season. That’s a whole lotta games, 29 of ’em! They’re gonna be busy, runnin’ all over the place. You can find their scores and stats and all that online, if you’re into that kinda stuff. I just like watchin’ the games on TV when I can. Sometimes they show ’em, sometimes they don’t. It’s all a mystery to me.
- They got this team, see, and they play other teams.
- Sometimes they win, sometimes they lose. That’s just how it goes.
- But they always try their best, them Bulldogs. That’s what I like about ’em.
I heard tell they had a game where five of the girls got double figures. That means they scored a lot of points, I think. And they were shootin’ the ball real good, over half the time it went in! They even had a whole bunch of assists, which means they helped each other score. See, they work together, them girls. That’s important, you know, teamwork and all that.
They got this rivalry thing goin’ on with another team, Brown University they call ’em. The Bears. It’s like a big deal when they play each other. Folks get all riled up. One time, the Bears coulda fouled and made the Bulldogs shoot free throws, but they didn’t. And the Bulldogs won! See, it’s excitin’ stuff, this basketball.
You can find all sorts of news about these Bulldogs online. They got game recaps and highlights and player information. I don’t know what half them words mean, but the pictures are nice. And sometimes they show the girls on TV, talkin’ about the games. They seem like nice young ladies, all polite and respectful. That’s good, you know. Sportsmanship and all that.
So, yeah, the Bryant University women’s basketball team. They’re a bunch of tough, hard-workin’ girls. They play hard, they play together, and they make their old granny proud, even if she don’t understand all the rules. Go Bulldogs! That’s what I say. Go Bulldogs!
They got a fella named Kobe Bryant mentioned sometimes with the team. Don’t know if he’s related or what, but his name pops up now and again. And another fella, Bill Koch, too. Maybe they’re important folks, helpin’ the girls out. It takes a village, you know, to raise a basketball team, or somethin’ like that.
Anyway, if you wanna know more, you gotta go look it up yourself. I told you all I know. Just remember, them Bryant Bulldogs are a good bunch, and they’re worth watchin’. They make this old lady happy, and that’s sayin’ somethin’. Now, where’s my tea?
