Well, howdy there, y’all! Let me tell you somethin’ about listenin’ to them Kansas State football games on the radio. Folks ’round here, they love their football, and if you can’t make it to the stadium, well, the radio’s the next best thing, ain’t it?
Now, I ain’t no fancy tech whiz or nothin’, but I know a thing or two about findin’ them games on the airwaves. It ain’t always as easy as flickin’ a switch, ya know. You gotta know which station to tune into, and that can change depending on where you’re at.
First off, you got your K-State Sports Network. That’s the big one, the one that carries pretty much all the games. They got a whole mess of stations all over the state, so chances are, you can find one close to you. You can usually find a list of them stations online, or maybe in the newspaper, if folks still read those things.
- Look for the K-State Sports Network: This is your main place to listen to all the games, like I said. They have a bunch of stations all over, so find one close to you.
- Local Radio Stations: Sometimes, your local radio stations might carry the game, too. Especially if it’s a big one.
- TuneIn Radio: I heard tell there’s this thing called TuneIn Radio, and it can get you the games too. It’s on the internet, I reckon. My grandson showed it to me once. Sounded clear as a bell!
- AM and FM: Now, don’t forget, you got your AM and FM stations. Sometimes the game’s on one, sometimes on the other. Gotta pay attention!
Now, sometimes, findin’ the right station is like lookin’ for a needle in a haystack. You might have to fiddle with that dial a bit, you know, try this station, try that station. And sometimes, the signal ain’t so good, and you get all that cracklin’ and static. Drives me up the wall, it does! But hey, that’s just part of the deal, I guess.
I remember one time, we was havin’ a big ol’ barbeque, and the game was on. Well, wouldn’t you know it, the radio started actin’ up. We was missin’ all the good parts! My nephew, he’s a handy fella, he climbed up on the roof and messed with the antenna. Finally got it workin’ again, just in time to hear the Wildcats score a touchdown. We all went wild! Good times, good times.
And let me tell you somethin’ else. It ain’t just the game you get on the radio. You get all them announcers talkin’, tellin’ you what’s goin’ on, who’s doin’ what. Sometimes they get a little excitable, yellin’ and hollerin’, but that’s part of the fun, ain’t it? Makes you feel like you’re right there in the stadium, even if you’re just sittin’ on your porch.
Pregame and Postgame Shows are important too. They tell you all about the players, the coaches, what to expect from the game. And after the game, they break it all down, tell you what went right, what went wrong. It’s like gettin’ the inside scoop, ya know?
And don’t forget about them coach’s shows. You get to hear from the coach himself, talkin’ about the team, how they’re doin’, what they’re workin’ on. It’s a good way to stay connected to the team, even when they ain’t playin’ a game.
Now, I know some folks these days, they listen to the games on their phones or their computers. But me, I still like the good ol’ radio. There’s somethin’ about that cracklin’ sound, that voice comin’ through the airwaves, that just feels right. It’s like you’re part of somethin’ bigger, ya know? Part of a whole community of folks listenin’ along with you.
So, if you’re lookin’ to listen to them Kansas State football games on the radio, just remember what I told you. Find that K-State Sports Network station, or maybe your local station, and settle in for some good ol’ fashioned football. And if you’re lucky, maybe you’ll get a clear signal, and you won’t have to climb up on the roof like my nephew did!
Anyway, that’s about all I got to say on the matter. Hope it helps y’all out. Now go on and enjoy them games! Go Wildcats!
