Hey everyone, it’s your boy back with another wild story. So, picture this: I’m at the U.S. Women’s Open, right? And I’ve got this nasty habit I’ve been trying to kick – vaping. I know, I know, it’s bad. But here’s the kicker, last year I thought, “Hey, maybe if I pick up smoking, it’ll help me quit vaping.” Dumb, I know, but I was desperate. I figured, “Well, I can’t vape indoors all the time, but with cigarettes, I gotta go outside.”
So, there I am, puffing away like a chimney. People started calling me the “Jon Daley of women’s golf.” Can you believe that? Me, compared to a legend! Anyway, I’m out there on the course, cigarette in hand, trying to focus on my game. It became my little ritual, you know? A couple of puffs before a shot, it kind of calmed my nerves.
- Phase 1: The Genius Idea – Started smoking to quit vaping. Brilliant, right? (Not.)
- Phase 2: The Public Eye – Suddenly, I’m the talk of the town, or at least, the golf course. Everyone’s got an opinion about my smoking.
- Phase 3: The Olympic Hurdle – Got the news that I can’t smoke during the Olympics. Seriously? A rule just for that!
- Phase 4: Social Media Frenzy – People online are having a field day. Memes, comments, the whole nine yards. I even saw someone call me John Daly’s female version, haha.
- Phase 5: Reality Check – Okay, this is getting out of hand. I know it’s bad, and I gotta quit. For real this time.
Here’s how my smoking ‘journey’ went down:
Then bam! News comes out that I won’t be able to smoke at the 2024 Paris Olympics. No cigarettes on the course at Le Golf National. Talk about a wake-up call. I mean, I knew it wasn’t good for me, but having a rule specifically saying I couldn’t do it during such a big event? That hit hard. And let me tell you, the internet went nuts! I was trending, getting all sorts of comments and reactions. It was wild. Some people thought it was funny, others were judging me. But hey, at least I was making headlines, right?
Look, I get it. Smoking’s bad. I’m not proud of it. But it’s my thing, my bad habit. And yeah, this whole Olympic ban is gonna be tough. I’m not gonna lie, it’s gonna affect me. I’ve been pretty open about how it helps calm my nerves. But hey, rules are rules. And maybe this is the push I need to finally kick this habit for good. We’ll see what happens. But for now, that’s my story. A bit messy, a bit controversial, but it’s real. And that’s all that matters, right?
