Alright, so you wanna know about this David Walling fella and the Yankees, huh? Okay, okay, I’ll tell ya what I know. It ain’t gonna be fancy, mind you, just plain talk, like you’re sittin’ here on the porch with me sippin’ sweet tea.
Now, this David, I reckon he’s gotta be somethin’ special if he’s mixed up with them Yankees. You know, the Yankees, the baseball team, always winnin’ and whatnot. Always on the TV, big city fellas with their fancy pants and bats.
The Yankees and Winning, A Lot of Winning
My grandson, he loves them Yankees. Always yellin’ at the TV, “Go Yankees! Go!” He tells me they win all the time, championships they call ’em. World Series, that’s the big one. Sounds important. Like winnin’ the blue ribbon at the county fair for the biggest pumpkin, but bigger, I guess. This David Walling, if he’s with them, he must be pretty good, you know? Like a prize-winning bull at the cattle show.
- They got a lotta famous players on that team, my grandson says.
- Babe Ruth, somethin’ like that. He was a long time ago though, like when I was a young’un.
- And that Jeter fella, real popular.
David Walling, Maybe He’s a Player, Maybe Not
Now, is this David a player? Maybe. Could be he’s one of them pitchers, throwin’ the ball real fast. Or maybe he’s a hitter, smackin’ that ball outta the park. My grandson says they get paid a whole lotta money for doin’ that. Enough to buy a whole herd of cows, I bet. More than old Mr. Henderson made sellin’ his whole farm, that’s for sure.
Or maybe, and this is just me thinkin’ out loud, maybe David ain’t a player at all. Maybe he’s somethin’ else. Maybe he’s one of them fellas that works behind the scenes, you know? Like the fella who keeps the grass lookin’ all nice and green, or the fella who makes sure them bats ain’t all cracked up. Important jobs, those are. Someone’s gotta do ’em, right? Like how someone’s gotta milk the cows every mornin’, can’t have no fancy cereal without milk, can ya?
The Important Thing is Being Part of Something Big
Whether he’s a player or not, bein’ with the Yankees, that’s a big deal. That’s like bein’ part of a big family, I reckon. Everybody workin’ together to win. Like a barn raisin’, you know? Everybody comin’ together, hammerin’ and sawin’, ’til the barn’s up and standin’ tall. That’s what teamwork is all about. And them Yankees, they sure seem to know a thing or two about teamwork.
Trying to Figure Out Who This David Is
I tried lookin’ this David up online, you know, on that internet thingy my grandson showed me. Typed in “David Walling Yankees” just like you said. But golly, that thing’s got more words on it than a dictionary! All kinds of stuff popped up. Somethin’ about cybersecurity, whatever that is. Sounds complicated. And somethin’ about stocks and dividends. Don’t know nothin’ about that neither. Too much for this old lady’s brain, I tell ya.
Then I saw somethin’ about a fella named David, a long time ago, in the Bible. Said he was loved. Maybe this David Walling is named after him? Who knows? And somethin’ about keeping notes and schedules. Maybe this David Walling keeps all the Yankee’s schedules? Like when they gotta play and who they gotta play against.
I even saw somethin’ about keeping the internet fair for everyone, so nobody gets cheated. That’s important, I guess. Fair is fair, that’s what my mama always said. But I still don’t know for sure who this David Walling is. Maybe he’s retired now. Maybe my grandson would know, but he’s gone off to the city for the week. Darn it!
Well, That’s All I Know About David Walling and the Yankees
So, that’s all I got for ya. Not much, I know. But I tried my best. Maybe he’s famous, maybe he ain’t. Maybe he’s a player, maybe he’s just a regular Joe workin’ for the team. But if he’s with the Yankees, he’s gotta be doin’ somethin’ right. Them Yankees, they don’t mess around when it comes to winnin’. Just like my prize-winning apple pie, I don’t mess around when it comes to bakin’!
