Okay, so I saw this headline floating around: “Did Rory McIlroy Cheat on His Wife?” and my first thought was, “Whoa, where did THAT come from?” I’m a big golf fan, and I follow Rory pretty closely, so I was immediately curious. And a little worried, to be honest.

First thing I did was fire up my go-to search engine. I typed in “Rory McIlroy cheat on wife” and, man, the results were all over the place. Lots of gossip sites, a few sports blogs, and a whole bunch of forums where people were just speculating. Nothing concrete, you know?
I started digging through the results. I skipped the obviously clickbait-y stuff and focused on articles from sources I generally trust. I skimmed through a few, and it became pretty clear pretty fast: there’s absolutely nothing to this rumor.
- Most articles were basically saying the same thing: “We don’t know where this came from, and there’s no evidence.”
- Some pointed out that Rory and his wife, Erica, seem super solid. They’ve been together for years, have a kid, and generally seem really happy.
- A few even mentioned that Rory’s been pretty open about how much he values his family life.
My Investigation(Just Kidding)
My “investigation” (if you can even call it that) involved the following:
- Reading Articles that looks credible, not rumor website.
- Checking Rory’s Social: I checked, nothing out of the ordinary there. Just normal family stuff and golf posts.
- Looking at the Dates: Was there a recent event, or some trigger? Nope. This rumor just seemed to come out of nowhere.
Honestly, after about 20 minutes of looking around, I was totally convinced it was all garbage. Just another example of the internet being the internet, I guess. People love to stir up drama, even when there’s nothing there.
It’s kind of a bummer, though. Rory’s a great golfer and seems like a decent guy. It’s not cool to have these kinds of baseless rumors floating around about you. It’s a good reminder not to believe everything you read online, especially when it comes to gossip and speculation.
