Alright, so you wanna know about this Seminole golf tournament, huh? Well, let me tell ya, it’s a big deal, even if I don’t understand all them fancy golf words.
They call it the Seminole Pro-Member. Sounds important, right? It’s like when the big shots and their buddies get together to whack some balls. Happened down in Florida, in a place called Juno Beach. Fancy place, I reckon.
This year, it was in March, on the 4th, to be exact. They got all sorts of famous golfers there. Big names, the kind you see on TV. Like that Tiger Woods fella. First time he played in this thing, they said. He’s a big deal, always hearin’ about him on the radio.
- They had other guys too, like… uh… Hughes and somebody called Van Rooyen. They won the whole shebang, I heard. Good for them, I guess.
- Then there’s McIlroy, Rahm, Justin Thomas… lots of names I can’t even pronounce right. All them fellas, playin’ with the club members. Rich folks, I bet.
- Oh, and that Lexi Thompson girl too! She’s one of them lady golfers, real good, they say. Playin’ with the men, ain’t that somethin’?
This Seminole place, it’s super exclusive, they tell me. Means only the high and mighty get in. Like them fellas with all the money and power. They got their own club, fancy golf course and all. Must be nice, eh? Probably got them little carts to drive around in, too. My old bones would sure appreciate that!
They play all over Florida, these golfers. Big tournaments, lots of ’em. Places like THE PLAYERS Championship and that Arnold Palmer thing. Lots of drama, they say. Like watching a soap opera, but with golf balls. I don’t get it, but folks seem to like it.
Padraig Harrington, Rickie Fowler, Matt Fitzpatrick… See? More names I can barely remember. They were there too, swingin’ them clubs. Cameron Young, Corey Conners, Sungjae Im, Matt Kuchar, Mackenzie Hughes… it’s like a whole army of golfers! Don’t know how they keep ’em all straight.
They got all this golf stuff for sale, too. Clubs and balls and shoes… all kinds of things. Places sellin’ it all over, even online now, can you believe it? My grandson, he’s always lookin’ at that stuff on the computer. Says they got good prices. Maybe I should get him a set of clubs, get him off that darn computer for a while.
Anyways, this Seminole tournament, it’s a big deal for them golfers and their fancy friends. They come from all over, play some golf, hobnob with each other. Probably eat some fancy food, too. I bet they don’t have no fried chicken and collard greens like I make, though. Their loss, I tell ya.
