Okay, so today I decided to dive into the world of sports predictions, specifically for the Athletics vs. Yankees game. It’s something I’ve been curious about, so I figured, why not give it a shot and document the whole process?

Getting Started
First, I needed some data. I mean, you can’t just make a prediction out of thin air, right? I started by searching for recent game results for both teams, things like their win/loss records, and who they’ve played recently. I figured that would be a good starting point.
Digging Deeper
Just looking at wins and losses didn’t feel like enough, though. I wanted to see how the teams were actually performing. So, I started looking at things like runs scored, runs allowed, and even some individual player stats like batting averages and ERAs. This took a bit longer, sifting through different websites and trying to make sense of all the numbers.
Forming an Opinion
After I felt like I had a decent grasp of the data, I started to form my own opinion. I considered the Yankees’ strong home record, but also the Athletics’ recent winning streak. It wasn’t as straightforward as I initially thought it would be! I kept going back and forth, weighing the different factors.
Making My Prediction
Finally, I decided to make my prediction. Based on everything I’d looked at, I went with the Yankees to win. It felt like a calculated guess, although I know anything can happen in sports! I wrote down my prediction and the reasoning behind it, just to keep track of my thought process.
The Result (and Reflection)
Well, I ended the day by realizing that I need much more data, It’s a learning curve, for sure! But it was a fun experiment, and it definitely gave me a better appreciation for how much goes into making these kinds of predictions. I’ll continue to explore.
