Alright, listen up, y’all. We’re gonna talk about them 2017 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, you know, the football fellas. Don’t know much about fancy stats or nothin’, but I can tell ya who was on that team and how they did, kinda.
So, first off, we had this quarterback, Jameis Winston. Big fella, throws the ball hard, sometimes too hard, if ya know what I mean. He was their main guy, started most of the games. But then there was this other fella, Fitzpatrick, came in when Jameis wasn’t doin’ so hot. Kinda like havin’ two cooks in the kitchen, ya know? One makes it spicy, the other makes it plain. Jameis and Fitzpatrick, that was the quarterback story that year. Up and down, like a rollercoaster at the fair.
Now, who was catchin’ them balls? Well, we had Mike Evans, big ol’ receiver, real good at grabbin’ the ball outta the air. He was like a magnet for that pigskin. Then there was DeSean Jackson, speedy fella, could outrun a chicken on a hot day. He made some big plays, too. And don’t forget about Cameron Brate, the tight end. He was good at catchin’ those short passes, movin’ the chains, you know, gettin’ first downs. Those three, Evans, Jackson, and Brate, they were the main catchers for Jameis and Fitzpatrick.
- Mike Evans: The big guy, always catchin’ the ball.
- DeSean Jackson: Fast as lightning, could run all day.
- Cameron Brate: The steady one, always there when ya needed him.
What about runnin’ the ball? Well, Doug Martin was there, but he didn’t do so hot that year. Seemed like he was always gettin’ hurt or somethin’. And then there was Jacquizz Rodgers, little fella, but he ran hard. Always fightin’ for extra yards. They also had Peyton Barber, a young fella, he got some carries too. The runnin’ game wasn’t the best, gotta be honest. Not like back in the day when them fellas ran like bulls.
Now, defense. That’s where things got tricky. They had Gerald McCoy, big strong fella in the middle, tryin’ to stop the other team from runnin’. And Lavonte David, fast linebacker, always around the ball. But, seems like they gave up a lot of points, ya know? Couldn’t always stop the other team from scorin’. They had Brent Grimes at cornerback, he was pretty good, but one fella can’t do it all. The defense, well, they tried, bless their hearts, but they needed some help.
Let’s see, who else was on that team? They had a kicker, of course, can’t play football without a kicker. And a punter, gotta kick the ball when ya can’t make a first down. And a bunch of other fellas, linemen, back-ups, all them fellas. It takes a whole village to make a football team, ya know? Can’t just have one or two good fellas, gotta have everyone workin’ together.
So, how’d they do that year? Well, not so good. Didn’t make the playoffs. Won some games, lost some games. Like I said, up and down, like a rollercoaster. Started out okay, then kinda fell apart. Happens sometimes, ya know? Can’t win ’em all. 2017 wasn’t their year, but that’s just how it goes sometimes in football.
But hey, they were out there playin’ hard, tryin’ their best. That’s all ya can ask for, right? And them fans, they kept cheerin’, even when things weren’t lookin’ so good. That’s what football’s all about, ya know? Community, and stickin’ together, through thick and thin.
Now, I ain’t no expert, like them fellas on TV, but that’s how I remember the 2017 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A bunch of fellas, tryin’ to play some football. Some good, some not so good, but they were out there givin’ it their all.
