Alright, so I got curious about what JT Poston keeps in his golf bag. You see him playing, doing pretty well, and you just wonder, you know? What’s he hitting? It wasn’t like some official thing, just me wanting to figure it out.

So, I started paying closer attention whenever he was on TV. Paused the screen a lot, tried to get a good look at the clubs when he pulled them out or when the camera zoomed in on the bag. Sometimes you get a clear shot, sometimes it’s blurry or too quick. It’s a bit of a pain, honestly. You piece things together bit by bit.
I’d also flip through photos from tournaments online. Not looking for articles specifically listing his gear, just scrolling through action shots. Sometimes you catch a glimpse of the driver headcover, or the back of an iron, or the putter sitting there by the green. You kind of build a mental checklist.
Here’s what I pieced together:
It seemed like he was sticking with Titleist for a lot of his stuff, which isn’t too surprising. Felt like I kept seeing that script logo.
- Driver: Looked like one of those Titleist TSR models. Maybe the TSR3? Hard to be exact from TV sometimes, but the shape seemed right.
- Fairway Woods: Definitely saw a couple in the bag. Again, looked like Titleist, probably TSR something. He uses these quite a bit, seemed confident with them.
- Irons: This was tougher. They looked like blades or very close to it. Maybe those Titleist 620 MBs? Or perhaps a split set, with something a bit more forgiving in the longer irons. Saw him hitting some pure shots with whatever they were.
- Wedges: Vokey wedges, for sure. Saw the ‘BV’ wings logo pretty clearly a few times. You see those everywhere, makes sense. Probably had three or four different lofts.
- Putter: This one stood out. Seemed like a Scotty Cameron mallet. Looked like one of those GoLo types, maybe a custom one. He rolls it well, so whatever it is, it works for him.
It’s not like some super crazy setup, you know? Looks like solid stuff, mostly from one brand, which seems practical. He’s not tinkering constantly with weird gear, or at least it didn’t look that way from what I could gather. Just seems like he found what works and sticks with it. Makes sense, he plays a steady game.
Anyway, that was my little project, trying to figure out his WITB just by watching and looking. Took a bit of time, but it’s interesting to see what these pros rely on week in and week out.
