Okay, so I was playing Road to the Show in MLB The Show 24 the other day, right? And my guy, he was just stuck. Not getting the playing time I thought he deserved on the team he was drafted by. I figured, maybe a change of scenery would do him good. So, I decided I wanted to try and get him traded.

Figuring Out How to Ask
First thing, I started poking around the menus. You know how it is, you click here, you click there. Checked my player card, looked through the team stuff, nothing obvious jumped out saying “REQUEST TRADE HERE”. A little frustrating, I gotta admit. I thought maybe it was hidden somewhere deep.
Talking to the Agent
Then I remembered – the Agent! In RTTS, you’ve got an agent who handles your business. I went back to the main RTTS hub, the screen where you see your player and the upcoming games. Somewhere in there, usually under one of the main sections like ‘Clubhouse’ or maybe even its own spot depending on the screen layout that day, I found the option for ‘Agent Interactions’ or something similar.
Clicked on that, and boom, there were options to talk to my agent about different things. Contracts, role, and thankfully, the one I was looking for: expressing interest in being traded.
This was the key part:
- Navigate to the main Road to the Show menu/hub.
- Look for an option related to your Agent or Player Interactions.
- Select the dialogue or menu item specifically about wanting a trade.
Making the Request
I selected the option to discuss a trade. My agent popped up with some dialogue, basically asking if I was sure or why I wanted out. I just confirmed it. You usually get a dialogue choice to say “Yeah, I’d like to explore trade options” or something along those lines. Hit that.
My agent was like, “Okay, I’ll let the front office know you’re unhappy and see what interest is out there.” Don’t expect fireworks or anything. It’s pretty low-key.
The Waiting Game
Now, this wasn’t instant. Super important: You don’t get traded the next day. You just have to keep playing your games like normal. Go through the schedule, show up, do your best. Your agent is working behind the scenes.
I played through maybe two or three weeks of in-game time. Honestly, I almost forgot I’d asked. Then, one day, I got a notification or maybe the agent popped up again – can’t recall exactly which – saying there was trade interest or that the team was actively looking to move me.

Finally Got Moved
A little while after that notification, the trade finally happened! Got the screen showing where I was headed. New team, fresh start. Exactly what I was hoping for. Sometimes, I hear it might take longer, or maybe the team doesn’t find a deal they like right away, so you might have to wait or even bring it up again later if nothing happens for a long stretch.
So yeah, that was my experience getting a trade requested in MLB The Show 24 RTTS. Just gotta find that agent interaction screen and be patient after you make the request. Good luck if you’re trying to get your player moved too!
