Alright, so I’ve been a huge Yankees fan my whole life, and you know who else is? Spike Lee. That guy’s a legend, and his love for the Yankees is almost as famous as his movies. So, when I heard he was dropping a new line of Yankees hats with New Era, I knew I had to check it out. I went straight to the store as soon as I could.
Getting My Hands on the Goods
I went to the New Era store, and there they were, a whole display of these Spike Lee designed Yankees caps. Seven different designs, each one celebrating a different World Series win. Now, I’m a bit of a purist when it comes to my Yankees gear, but I gotta say, these were something else. I started to look closely at the designs.
The Designs
- Silver Bats: One design had these silver bats all across the brim. Looked pretty slick, I gotta admit. It was a bold move, but it worked. I picked one up and put it on, it felt great.
- Criss-Crossed Bats: Another one had bats criss-crossed all over the cap. This one was a bit more out there, but still pretty cool. It definitely caught my eye. I tried this one as well, it was also comfortable.
- Other Designs: The other designs were just as unique, each one paying homage to a different championship. They had different color schemes, different patterns, but all with that signature Yankees logo. I spent a good amount of time checking each one out.
The Verdict
After trying on a few, and debating with myself for what felt like an hour, I finally decided to get two of them. I picked one of the silver bat designs and one of the more classic-looking ones. I wore one out of the store, feeling like a million bucks. These hats are definitely a statement piece, and I can’t wait to rock them at the next game.
If you’re a Yankees fan, or even just a fan of cool hats, you gotta check these out. They’re a little different, a little bold, but that’s what makes them so great. Spike Lee really knocked it out of the park with these, no pun intended.
