Well, let me tell ya ’bout this… this “Boo Carter” thing. I ain’t no fancy writer or nothin’, just tellin’ it like I see it, ya know? Heard this name, “Boo Carter,” and thought, “What in the tarnation is that?” Sounds like somethin’ my old hound dog would chase outta the henhouse.
So, I poked around a bit, asked my young’uns to look it up on that there inter-web thingy. Turns out, Boo Carter is a football player. A young fella, plays for the Tennessee Volunteers. Now, I don’t know much about football, but I know a strong young buck when I see one. This Boo, he’s a defensive back, they say. Means he stops the other fellas from runnin’ with the ball, I reckon.
They say he’s a freshman, which means he’s new to the team. But lemme tell ya, bein’ new don’t mean nothin’ if you got grit. And this Boo, he seems to have plenty of it. Heard tell he made some tackles in a game, a real whoppin’ game, 69 to 3 they say. That’s a lot of points, even I know that.
- He seems like a tough kid
- Plays hard
- Makes tackles
But this young’n, he got himself in a bit of a pickle. Seems he was recordin’ a video in the locker room, a “live” thing they call it, on that “Insta-gram.” Now, I ain’t got no “Insta-gram,” but I hear it’s where young folks put up pictures and videos of themselves. Well, apparently, you ain’t supposed to be doin’ that in the locker room. Rules, ya know? Everywhere’s got rules, even football.
So, Boo made a mistake. We all make mistakes, ain’t no one perfect. He’s just a young fella learnin’ his way. Hopefully, he learns from it and moves on. He’s got a whole lotta football ahead of him, if he plays his cards right. He’s gotta be smart, ya know? Stay outta trouble and focus on the game.
Now, some folks might get all riled up about this video thing. Say he should be punished and all that. And maybe he will be, I don’t know. But I say, give the boy a chance. He’s just tryin’ to figure things out, like we all did when we were young. Life’s a learnin’ process, ain’t it?
Besides, from what I hear, this Boo Carter is a good player. Got talent, got speed, got that somethin’ special that makes a good football player. And that’s what matters most, right? Can he play the game? Can he help his team win? That’s what I care about, and that’s what the folks in Tennessee care about too, I bet.
So, let’s not judge this Boo Carter too harshly. He’s a young man with a bright future, if he stays on the right path. And I hope he does. I hope he learns from his mistakes and becomes a great football player, a role model for other young fellas. That’s the kinda story I like to hear. A story about redemption, about comin’ back stronger after you fall down. That’s the kinda story that makes you feel good, ya know?
And who knows, maybe one day, I’ll even watch a football game and cheer for Boo Carter myself. Though I still ain’t quite sure why they call him “Boo.” Sounds spooky to me. But hey, to each their own, I always say. As long as he plays good football and stays outta trouble, that’s all that matters.
So, that’s my take on this Boo Carter fella. Not much, I know, but it’s honest. Just an old woman’s thoughts on a young man’s journey. And I wish him all the best. Go get ’em, Boo! And try to stay off that “Insta-gram” in the locker room, ya hear?
