Okay, so I found myself in a bit of a bind recently, trying to figure out who to roll with: Goedert or LaPorta. It wasn’t an easy choice, let me tell ya.
I started off thinking about Goedert. He’s been around, you know? He’s got that connection with Hurts, and we’ve seen him put up some solid numbers in the past. Felt like a safe floor, kinda reliable. But then, I dunno, Philly’s offense has a lot of mouths to feed. AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith… sometimes Goedert just disappears a bit. Comparing the Two
Putting them side-by-side was tough. Here’s kinda what I was juggling:
- Goedert: Proven talent, good QB connection, but maybe a lower ceiling with all the other weapons? A bit more injury history lately.
- LaPorta: Huge rookie year, seemed locked into his role, maybe a higher ceiling? But hey, it was only one year. Could there be a sophomore slump? Defenses might pay more attention now.
I spent a good while just thinking about it. Watched some highlights again, just to get a feel for how they were being used. Goedert felt like the steady option, the guy who probably wouldn’t lose you the week but might not win it for you either. LaPorta felt like the gamble with more potential upside. He just looked dynamic last season.
Ultimately, I leaned towards the upside. I figured, why not take a shot? The Lions offense seemed like it was going to keep humming, and LaPorta looked like a big part of it. It felt like he had more potential to be a game-changer, even with the risk that comes with a younger player.
So, I ended up going with LaPorta. Felt a bit risky, stepping away from the more established guy, but the potential just seemed too good to pass up. We’ll see how it plays out, right? Sometimes you just gotta go with your gut feeling on these things.
